Amen. I was going to blog about this lame talk but you beat me to it! All of your suggestions are spot on, of course they don't fit into the format of a Ted talk, which gets at the heart of the problem. Ted, like our culture in general, favors reductionist, technological solutions where a more nuanced whole systems approach is more appropriate. Mimicking natural systems and finding our place in that system does not fit within the tight confines of a Ted talk or the business plans of Monsanto.
