I just talked to a buddy of mine who is a Michigan alum and he thinks this is a good move for both Miami and TF. In his personal opinion Tate is much more suited to run a pro style O then the spread. Like a couple of individuals stated on here at the very least he'll give our D some looks on the scout team. Imagine preparing for a team with Whipple simulating plays......f ing disastrous.
May The Forcier Be With U
Word on the street over the last few days was that former Michigan starting QB Tate Forcier, who was in the process of transferring from the Wolverines, would be visiting Miami and meeting with head coach Al Golden to discuss the possibility of becoming a Hurricane. Well today that possibility b...
No sh*t...at least our D will get a decent look from the scout team QB for a year!

Sam Shields Adds To The U's Super Bowl Legacy
Just in case you were living in a cave or under a rock or suffering from a self-induced alcohol related coma on Sunday the Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl by the score of 31-25. The University of Miami's Sam Shields played extensively at cornerback for the Packer...
By the way, any word on the reason for Ayles being a backup? Was he behind more senior TE's (i.e. a senior was playing while he was a junior this year, and so forth) or is he getting beat by underclassmen now?
Posted by: ChicagoCane | January 21, 2011 at 05:39 PM
Chicago he was been banged up his entire career at SC. Here's to hoping he is healthy and ready to uphold the U TE tradition for a season!
Ayles enrolls, adds depth at tight end for UM
Blake Ayles, considered the nation's second-best tight end coming out of high school in 2008, enrolled at UM Friday afternoon -- ending about two weeks of speculation he would be transferring in from USC. Ayles spent three years at USC as a backup where he caught 14 passes in three seasons. L...

Not impressive at all. That's what Da U does now. Brings in average kids. He won't solve anything

how many stars did Davis have, anyone got video on him? I wonder if he was more FIU material than UM material.
Posted by: Ungar | January 12, 2011 at 05:58 PM
I believe he was 3 star Ungar but not 100% on that. Thats what rivals is showing him at. I haven't seen video of him but apparently is blazing quick.
The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

I just hope this doesn't turn out negative in recruiting.
Kid has bloodlines to UM, and was told he was not wanted.
Makes me wonder what kind of signal it sends to another bloodline and 3rd gen cane Chickillo.

Two sides to every story SSB and Golden can't or won't comment on it. I think we'll hear what happened down the road though...

Head coach Al Golden made it clear to CB Jeremy Davis, younger brother of former UM star Phillip Buchanon, that Miami would not be in his best interest ITU

Solar I've been seeing this as well. Anyone have any other info as to why? This kid has been all about UM from day 1. From what I've read its not due to academics but other then that no other info.

But I am impressed with the effort and the future Golden gives us recruiting. He has a motor that never stops. He also is relentless to get the players that will help us on such short amount of time!

Totally agree. Looking forward to a strong finish in a couple weeks!

canesport reporting crawford has a new number 1. anybody know if it's us?
Posted by: ftmcanefan | January 10, 2011 at 09:44 PM
Yes it's us but the lead isn't much. He will be visiting UM officially this weekend. UNC next weekend and USC the weekend after that.
Does this sound familiar? (What a damn joke)
South Ft. Myers High assistant coach Anthony Dixon says of Crawford's UM recruitment that "He's loved Miami for a long time. Dallas never got offered by Miami until Aubrey (Hill) showed up, a last minute thing. Before that they really didn't show they wanted him. This kid's been getting recruited since his junior year (by other programs) and we never had the offer. He wanted to be somewhere where he wanted to be wanted for Dallas Crawford. Now this new staff is showing him that.

J12 would have been better off going to Oregon. Wonder if he watches thinking I should have played in that O.
Even though we had Nix trying to put in the stuff down here at the time he signed
Posted by: pbcfrcane13 | January 10, 2011 at 09:33 PM
I'll bet he's had some second thoughts but I don't think he's athletic enough to play in Oregon's offense. I do think Teddy Bridgewater would be well suited for Oregon's O though...
