I found out some of these things the hard way. My first programming job that moved from in office to remote led to a zombie-like state where I couldn't keep track of days, or even weeks. Now I make sure any remote work is done with another programmer elsewhere and with improved organizational skills it is quite enjoyable and easily managed.
