This would be funny as hell. I remember the first post here where Jason Bay was looking at other teams and all Red Sox fans were saying "good riddens to you and your terrible defense. dont let the door hit you".
It will be funny to see all the welcome arms from the hypocrites.
Jason Bay Rumors: Wednesday
10:48pm: The Red Sox might also be looking into extending an offer to free agent Matt Holliday, reports Mike Silverman of the Boston Herald. However, Silverman notes that signing Bay, let alone the more expensive Holliday, would be difficult. 7:31pm: The Mets have not heard from Bay's agent, Jo...
Troy Glaus will not make the Braves a World Series team. He is injury-prone and not as big a threat as some people here are making him out to be.
And I like the Braves, but this guy isn't a team changer.
Braves Sign Troy Glaus
5:45pm: ESPN's Buster Olney specifies the dollar values within Glaus' incentive clauses (via Twitter). 2:24pm: The Braves officially signed Troy Glaus to a one-year today. He'll get a $1.75MM base, a $250K bonus at 100 games, and another possible $2MM in incentives. Glaus will play first base ...
I don't think you can label Ortiz the biggest free agent signing of the decade only because the only reason he is good is because of steroids. He is a hypocrite, liar, and a phony. David Ortiz's only significant attribute is his power. He is slow and was overrated because of the steroid-riddled Manny Ramirez, a big part of the roid culture in Boston. Has anyone feared Ortiz since Manny left? And now, he isn't even a likeable guy because he has lied his way into peoples hearts. Just a true horror story.
Odds & Ends: Vazquez, A's, Orioles, Marlins
A few links... ESPN's Keith Law rated David Ortiz signing with Boston as the best free agent pickup of the decade. Darren Dreifort's deal with the Dodgers was the worst, and he called the Erik Bedard trade the biggest of the decade. That last one is certainly debatable; I prefer the Bartolo Co...
Funny how Yankee posts always end up in Red Sox discussion. My two cents, the Sox copy and try to mimic the Yankees in every way. They are the jealous little brother.
Yankees Acquire Vazquez; Melky To Braves
The Yankees and Braves agreed to a trade that solidifies New York's rotation and gives Atlanta enough payroll flexibility to pursue a bat. The Yankees acquire Javier Vazquez and Boone Logan in exchange for Melky Cabrera, cash (according to ESPN.com) and prospects Mike Dunn and Arodys Vizcaino. ...
I still think it applies. 6 championships OK... but they are tainted. Beeeeeeelicheck was caught taping teams and the Red Sox haven't won since the steroid combo of Ortiz and Manny were broken up.
Teams do roids, teams cheat and use anything to their advantage. But the Red Sox ONLY won because of those two juicing. Otherwise their offense would have been anemic and they wouldn't have made it to the promise land. The sad, unfortunate truth. You can knock the Yankees all you want but it's hard to discount 26 championships. Two roided championships are pretty easy.
Yankees Rumors: DeRosa, Damon, Matsui
Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News hears that Scott Boras and Johnny Damon talked with the Yankees yesterday and would have considered a two-year deal. The New York Times' Tyler Kepner says he would've taken $20MM, while Newsday's Ken Davidoff says the Yanks' best offer was $14MM (both li...
I am fine right now. Obviously I'd prefer Matsui as DH because he is clutch but Johnson puts up comparable numbers and doesn't have the knees of a 95 year old grandma.
New York Rumors: Sheets, Bay, Molina
After reporting earlier tonight that Nick Johnson and the Yankees are on the verge of an agreement, Newsday's Ken Davidoff looks at what that means for the Yankees, and brings us some Mets tidbits as well.... Davidoff acknowledges skepticism about the Yanks entering the season with Melky Cabrer...
Nick Johnson is an offensive force. On base machine. David Ortiz without the steroid homeruns and more walks.

Somebody just propsed this rotation to fix the mets lol:
Santana
Bedard
Pelfrey
Maine
Perez
Discussion: Mets Offseason
Earlier today Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post wrote that there is pressure on Omar Minaya after the Mets missed on Roy Halladay and John Lackey. The Mets have yet to make a significant move this offseason and Minaya spoke about the Mets plans. Minaya said that so far "the timing of the deals h...
The Red Sox weakness wasn't their pitching, it was their hitting. This makes no sense. Signing a guy who just had two seasons pitching well under 200 innings is crazy.
That would be like if the Yanks took AJ Burnett before he had a year where he learned to change his pitching mechanics and remained healthy (and it paid off for them).
The Sox will always be second class.
Red Sox, John Lackey Reach Agreement
10:28pm: Ian Browne confirms that the Red Sox have an 11:30am ET press conference scheduled tomorrow to announce the Cameron signing and a second press conference at 1:30pm ET to announce the Lackey signing. 5:10pm: Mike Silverman of the Boston Herald says "no finality" on Lackey's deal tonight ...
And to further play into your delusion, lets take a look at all the main contributors for the Red Sox around their entire lineup:
Varitek - white
Youkilis - white
Lowell - white
Pedroia - white
That-overrated-shortstop prospect - white
Ellsbury - white
Nancy - white
Bay - white
Papelbon - white
Beckett - white
Wakefield - white
Lester - white
The list you gave me was a bunch of prospects (who the Sox will eventually trade for a white guy), middle relievers, backups, and a shunned cheating DH.
Delusion will be Colbert's word of the day.

"Russell, Victor Martinez, David Ortiz, Hideki Okajima, Dice-K, Marco Scutaro. Their first round pick this year? Reymond Fuentes, so why don't you solve your maturity issues then try posting again."
You always need that minority market. The Red Sox are probably the most racist franchise in sports history. And they cheated their way to 2 championships as it turns out their 2 biggest minority contributors were using steroids.

I hope the RSox get Lackey. He is old, has had injuries the past few years, and will be overpriced.
But he is white so he fits the Red Sox mold.

This is it. The signing that brings the Mets to the World Series!
Elmer Dessens Signs Minor-League Deal With Mets
The Associated Press is reporting that the Mets have re-signed reliever Elmer Dessens to a one-year, minor-league contract. Under the terms of the split deal, Dessens would earn $700K if makes New York's 40-man roster, and $90K if he pitches in the minors. He can earn an extra 30K if he makes ...
Gammons is the Red Sox propaganda machine. Kelly and Bucholz are just so-so, it would just start negotiations for Halladay. Sox farm system is overrated.
Gammons On Bay, Beltre, Red Sox
Peter Gammons' departure from ESPN has become a story in itself during this busy off-season, and Gammons' media rounds continued today as a guest on the WEEI Sports Radio Network's Big Show. A full transcript is available here, but here are some of the hot stove items that Gammons had to share....
"C - Montero/Martinez
1B - Martinez/Youk
2B - Pedroia/Lowrie
SS - Scutaro/Lowrie
3B - Youk/Scutaro
OF - Werth/Hermedia
OF - Ellsbury/Westmoreland
OF - Drew/Hermedia
DH - Crawford"
That looks pretty weak to me.
Red Sox, Rangers Considering Mike Lowell Trade
SATURDAY, 11:59am: Lowell is flying to Texas today to meet with the Rangers' front office and medical staff, and to take a physical according to ESPN's Jayson Stark. Lowell saw a hand specialist in Arizona earlier this week. FRIDAY, 3:30pm: The Rangers will have their medical staff look at Lowe...
This is great for Texas. Ramirez is just plain not very good (but I guess that's better than the withered Varitek). Boston is going to pay to get rid of a guy that could be good if he gets healthy. Great news for the AL East. Theo Epstein is overrated.

It is typical of Boston to just buy out bad contracts. None of this matters though because they can't win without the roided team of Ortiz and Manny back together.

"Why do Yankee fans complain? You didn't trade any of your high priced "PROVEN" MLB players. If the NYY don't win the world series next year they'll just go out and sign HALLADAY to 20+million per year, MAUER to 20+ million per year. And if you don't win it that year you'll just sign PUJOLS to a 30+ million per year contract just like A-ROID. You people ruin baseball (NYY). Just throwing money at your problems, and yet they still want a farm system.LMFAO"
I wonder if he is a Red Sox or Mets fan? Hey, how does it feel that the Red Sox break the curse, win two championships, and are still the leftovers of the 21st century? Suck it.
Blockbuster Reactions
WEDNESDAY, 9:03am: Let's add Nick Piecoro's take from the Arizona Republic. I'm with him - I don't hate it for Arizona as much as most people. - Tim Dierkes TUESDAY, 8:27pm: Dave Dombrowski and Brian Cashman might not be commenting on today's big trade, but lots of other people sure are: Drew...
"Scutaro for only 2 years and only 12.5 million? In my opinion this is a good signing. Not too much money, not too many years, good job Theo."
ONLY 12.5 million dollars? The guy is a .330 on base percentage, .260 average hitter. Way too much money, bad job by Theo, again.
Red Sox Sign Marco Scutaro
3:23pm: The signing is now official, according to a team press release. Interesting press conference note from Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe: he tweets that Scutaro said another team offered more money. FRIDAY, 9:08am: ESPN's Buster Olney has the terms on Scutaro: $1MM signing bonus, $5MM ...
Pedroia is overrated. Scutaro just a "meh" player. He got a lot more than I thought he would.

"- Mets acquire 1b Miguel Cabrerea & Edwin Jackson from the Tigers in exchange for 1B Ike Davis, OF F-Mart, SS- Tejada, and Pitchers Niese & Parnell."
That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while. The Mets don't have any good prospects. F-Mart sucked when in the majors and all the pitchers benefitted from the confines of Chitti Field. I just heard the Tigers hang up the phone.
Discussion: Is Marquis Perfect Fit On Mets?
Jason Marquis, native of Staten Island, has made no secret of his desire to pitch for the Mets, describing himself as a "perfect fit" to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post. But is this the case? The Mets themselves aren't sure, ranking Marquis below both John Lackey and Joel Pineiro on their pit...
"Santana
Harang/Arroyo/Lowe
Pinero/Marquis/Wolf
Pelfrey
Niese"
That isnt exactly an explosive pitching staff lol
Mets Intrigued By Pineiro
According to a team insider, the Mets are "particularly intrigued" by free agent righty Joel Pineiro, says Adam Rubin of The NY Daily News. The Mets are rumored to be looking to add an innings eater to their rotation, and Pineiro would fit that bill. The 31-year-old led the big leagues with a 1....

Mets Meet With Boras
Mets GM Omar Minaya met with agent Scott Boras last night at the GM Meetings for 45 minutes, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. Sherman says Matt Holliday, Alex Cora, Jarrod Washburn, and Rick Ankiel were discussed. Of course, the Mets' plans extend beyond Boras clients, and Sherma...
27 Championships! The Red Sox suck woooohooooooo!
Petit, Slaten Claimed Off Waivers
According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, right-hander Yusmeiro Petit and left-hander Doug Slaten have been claimed off waivers. Petit, 24, was scooped up by the Mariners. He went 3-10 with a 5.82 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 74/34 K/BB ratio in 17 starts (89 2/3 innings) this season with the D'...
The Yanks should sign both so they can keep spanking the Red Sux.
Discussion: Hideki Matsui
Despite belting a crucial home run in Game 2 of the World Series, Hideki Matsui will not start tonight in Philadelphia. The 35-year-old DH's knee issues have been much-discussed this season, as he has yet to play a single inning in the field. Tonight's Yankees lineup, which has the ice-cold Nick...
