1) An American Childhood by Annie Dillard. (Would have been different if I had written it, since I'm NOT American. But still. I wish I could gift everyone with the college lit professor who assigned me this book, guided me through the blubber and whaling chapters and CHANGED MY LIFE. The ending always makes my heart pound and my head throb, but in a good way.

Ellocin: I saw a story about Screech in the Express. Geez. Doesn't he make any money from syndication? You'd think those crummy reruns would be good for something... Chuckles: I think I know which woman you are talking about!
