This layout is simple, but the magic is really in the details. Crate Paper really has a way with embellisments and the vintage ephemera pieces are always my favorite. I love using little bits of paper, rulers, and tickets to add detail and texture to a project. The trick is... Continue reading

These projects were created with Crate Paper Little Boy Blue. Technically it's a baby boy collection, but I think the color pallet is perfect for any boy. It's always my goal to make the photo the focus, and simplicity is almost always the easiest way to do that. This layout... Continue reading

Here are a few more Crate Paper Little Bo Peep layouts. This first is one of my favorites, and so simple. While the yellow and grey pallete is non-traditional for baby projetcs, the touches of pink really make it sweet :) I used opaque white Mister Huey's to break up... Continue reading

Made with Crate Paper Little Bo Peep I LOVE Crate Paper anyway, but this line is especially sweet. I love that the papers are so versatile, they aren't all super themey and I can use them for all sorts of cute litte girl projects. Here's another with the same collection... Continue reading

Most American Crafts collections have at least one paper that's divided into segments. The pieces are perfect to trim apart and use for embellishments, layering, journaling and especially cards. This card is literally a 5 minute project. I trimmed out the banner card, fit it to a grey card base,... Continue reading

I came home from work today covered in glitter, which actually isn't that unusual since I work at a place where I am required to make pretty things with glitter. (I know, it's a rough life, but somebody has got to it and I am willing to take one for... Continue reading

You're flipping through your scrapbooks and find a layout that you still really like? The Sassafras flowers on this were one of my all-time favorite products... wish I could find those again:) Continue reading

There was this girl that made stuff, mostly with paper, cause she really liked paper. She was however a terrible blogger. She was hoping to get better at it, so she started posting pictures and it pretending it wasn't so embarrassing that her last post post was over two years... Continue reading

It is very nearly torture to buy fabulous products, sort them into kits.... and then rarely get to use them. There just aren't enough hours in the day to use all of the beautiful stuff we get in. But the floral paper from the "Simplicity" line by Fancy Pants was... Continue reading

This is Corbin Baldwin... He rides his piano to the farmer's market on his bicycle every Saturday. Actually he and Eric Rich do. They ride together then take turns playing there. My sister and I happened upon the "Pianobike" when Corbin was playing. Not only is a "Pianobike" a spectacle... Continue reading

Hmm, that's a good idea! I don't know... they aren't usually the kind of thing we find at discount prices... they never go out of style;) I think we're bringing in American Crafts soon, we could get some of theirs but couldn't offer a huge discount?

Jennifer, I know what you mean... and the American Crafts 12"x12" page protectors that hold six 4"x6" photos front and back are perfect for me. I make the layout, then put the photos in the album with it so the photos are together but I don't have to scrapbook 42 pages of the same event! A pretty sneaky cheater method...I love it!

Seriously... has this year gone fast or what!! So long summer, ready or not, here come all the fall holidays! Halloween is of course the most notable fall holiday around here, the kids just don't get all that into Thanksgiving. Candy, costumes and late nights are where it's at! And... Continue reading

I would say the Clip it Up is worth it...be sure to find it on sale though. The nice thing about having so much of your stuff on it is that you can really see what you've got and use it. I don't have to count on my memory to recall things I bought a year ago... BTW I made the coconut cupcakes tonight, I'm gonna frost them in the morning... so far, super yummy!

Hey Jennifer, I would LOVE a wide format scanner... but those buggers are expensive and I am always photographing product anyway... so I haven't taken the plunge. I have two photography lights, meaning they are super bright tungsten bulbs in telescoping stands with reflecting shades. I point them at the ceiling to diffuse the light a bit, and set my cameras white balance setting to florescent. I lay out product or layouts or whatever on a 24"x24" white canvas (the cheap kind you get at a craft store to paint on.) I hate to admit most of the magic is done in Photoshop. I clean up the outside edges and make them white then color correct the layout. Oh... and I am right there with you on the OCD, organizing and re-organizing is my FAVORITE part of scrapbooking!
