The failure of Porter's termination a concern
Every NFL team has a salary cap specialist. These people are highly educated, highly specialized sorts that normally have many degrees and many hours of training in all things NFL salary cap. So how the heck could the Dolphins so royally screw up the termination of Joey Porter on Friday? I mean,...

please watch rob's video. mcclain does look lost at times and unable to shed blocks in open field.
still #1 on my board. must look at full body of work not individual plays that speak to one persons agenda.

Rob. I only viewed 1st video did not see second.
After watching the send video his blitzing look designed to blow up a screen or draw a few time. others he overloasded and timed gap blitz. other blitzes where he look manhandled were either he was picked up or used to allow for a stunt overlap type play. Bottom line... MClain Blitzes were successful due to over all pressure and penetration. Sometimes a blitz creates opportunity for the other parts of the D and is designed to occupy blockers and read and react to middle stuff like screen, draw, shuffle pass etc.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but, is that not the ILB job to protect the middle 1st (read and react)?

Are the Dolphins close to Saints, Colts? No!
In the aftermath of Super Bowl XLIV, I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this phrase: The Dolphins aren't that far off from winning a Super Bowl. They played both New Orleans and Indianapolis well and should have beaten them. So they're close. The logic apparently follows that since the ...
WestVA they are just stirring the pot. do not acknowledge their comments and enable them. That's what they want to do is stir you up. Sometimes it is fun though.

profootballfutres.com comments on Dansby
Karlos Dansby, Arizona Cardinals (29)
Dansby has played pretty well for the Cardinals, but isn’t making the number of impact plays we’ve seen out of him in the past. Quite frankly, the linebackers as a unit have been a big problem for the defense this year. At the top of his game, Dansby is one of the better scheme-diverse linebackers in the league and will likely have a number of teams lined up ready to woo him this offseason if the Cardinals don’t make an early offer. After their exit from the postseason, Dansby said that no contract negotiations have begun and wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t playing in Arizona next season.

West by god VA,
Time will tell and yes anything can happeen... just look at how the Jets backed their way in and had success this past season.
But I do not want just a one year wonder... I want a dynasty like the early 70,s. I have been following the Dolphins for 40 years and there is nothing like expecting your team to win. The early 80's were like that too.
No matter what my blood runs Aqua and Orange.
I still think Jimmy Johnson cursed this team by messing with the dolphin on the helmet and highlighting it with cowboy blue. We need to downgrade our emblem to the one prior to Johnson. ;)

WestVA, That is the thing about the draft it is soooo hard to predict what any team will do. Look at Miami... we need NT, ILB, OLB, WR, FS, OG, R-OT, TE. A lot of holes to fill on our roster. not to mention depth at all positions.
That's why I agree with NJ... a couple of years away from a deep run into the playoffs.
But, once we get in anything could happen.

Carlito,
If we draft ILB OLB 1st what NT do you think will be available 3rd/4th round. We still need an upgrade at TE, OG and the Big Beasty WR that even Henne has requested.

I agree, wake needs to be an every down player. Question is how he matches up in coverage and on the run. They could also use hi on either side of the ball for the rush and put the stronger pass/ run defender opposite wake. I believe that is how they used Lawrence taylor with the Giants. Of course Wake a,int no LT or does he have LT potential?

Carilito,
I like Williams at 12. he could anchor the middle for years. He has a strong lower body, quick off the ball and good penetration. I think he could develop into a NT that would require 2 linemen every play. He is durable too.
I also, like McClain. It will be interesting what thewy choose. NT and ILB is a glaring hole that needs to be filled.
We can get a young OLB in 2nd and 3rd to develop for taylor/porter replacement if wake does not pan out as an olb or is Wake a DE?

If pierce is able to still contribute at a reasonable level, then, he would be a definite upgrade over Akin Adoyle (or however you spell his name).
Also we should use Camarillo as trade bait.
