I really struggled through the winter to emerge relieved that finally I don’t have to cope with the awfulness of arriving at work in the dark and heading home in the dark. Perhaps I should have taken a little more... Continue reading

I don't think it would be fair to create a "Books I've Read" post when really this is the line up of what's ahead and I've only just scratched the surface. That isn't to say that that reading hasn't ticked... Continue reading

I'm starting what I hope will be a fortnightly review of courses that have caught my eye and which I'd like to draw your attention to. I know that many people are taking part in a what could be seen... Continue reading

This week the events in Paris have shocked and horrified, citizens have gathered together to pay homage and stand in solidarity against an attack on freedom of speech and democracy. I have a strong belief that education is one of... Continue reading

I have a strong belief that education is one of the most important pillars supporting a successful democracy, that learning... Continue reading

I'm starting what I hope will be a fortnightly review of courses that have caught my eye and which I'd like to draw your attention to. I know that many people are taking part in a what could be seen as a relatively new movement in online learning, with courses... Continue reading

I think it's been one of the more successful years in terms of book reading although a few days ago I read a feature in the newspaper of reader recommendations, one contributor began "..of the 100 books I've read this... Continue reading

It's already been seven months since my move from FE to HE, it's been an interesting change and I've crossed cultures and codes. The aims remain the same though, to ensure that the student experience is exceptional. I've been working... Continue reading

Just wanted to give you a quick update, I think there's been a definite change in habits, due in part to a sore ankle that is keeping me from long hours of exercise on the bicycle, but also the feeling... Continue reading

As you can see by the updated typelist on the side of this blog, one of the things I've been reading is Stuff I've been reading by Nick Hornby. To say it's woken me up is an understatement, and it's... Continue reading

Always nice to run into an old friend, especially when they're in rude health as Pixies are. I think I quite like these new tracks which you can download as ep1 and ep2 from Pixiesmusic.com. Black Francis is doing some... Continue reading

It use to be that this blog was more about design and illustration, with a side helping of bikes...and now. Here's Paul Steely self proclaimed urban humanist talking about his love of cycling whilst donning a lovely Giro Reverb Helmet... Continue reading

Sweet film about how Raleigh made thier bikes. I'm feeling the cycling world at the moment, despite being a bit poorly (and hence time to write here) I've been watching the good times at the Velodrome, especially impressed with the... Continue reading

Euros Childs has a new song called "Spin that girl around", and it's great. I really love the music that he's been quietly making since Gorkys came to an end. You can download the music for free from his National... Continue reading

I think the new format isn't as quick to post to - I find it a bit confusing. I don't care about stuff like seeing my own about photo (I know what I look like...) I just want to get straight into the blog and update a post. Once I'm into my blog's page it looks ok, but not all that different really, just aesthetic changes. I can see why there's a drive to update typepad, but I'd rather something more responsive and fast than something with too many features. Perhaps we could customise the front page, I don't much care about what else is going on in typepad either, just want to get on with administrating my blog. sorry.
