So I have to admit to Finish It February being a complete and total blog killer. As I mentioned before, it's hard to show progress on something that progresses slowly. It even killed my Year of Christmas Challenge. So what... Continue reading

Just Stash January was great! I used up some stuff and broke my habit of shopping for my creativity. But man, while I scoured those drawers for supplies I'd like to use up, I realized I have an equally horrible... Continue reading

As January winds to a close, I thought I would take a moment to look over how my challenge went! Overall, it was a success for me! I successfully avoided buying anything and still had plenty to do to stay... Continue reading

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I love the decorations, the glitter of everything, the fact that people are genuinely nice to each other! What I haven't enjoyed lately is the stress. It seems like every year lately, Christmas... Continue reading

Sometimes inspiration strikes and strikes hard! Like a flash, I knew my cross stitched square of four hearts should be a necklace charm! I quickly trimmed the piece down, leaving one row of fabric bordering it and rushed to my... Continue reading

Over the years, I have acquired a few skeins of yarn. But really, just a few. No need to look in that chest over there. Or that other one. Or in those tote bags. And definitely don't look in that... Continue reading

Ah, the ever present resolution to save money. While trying to use my craft hoard stash is a good start, I probably need to be a little more proactive. I love numbers. Really! I love reconciling my checkbook (it's very... Continue reading

So after announcing my Just Stash Challenge, I could not stop thinking about what my first project would be. What would I like to start using up first? The pounds of clay that never made it into being that art... Continue reading

So January 1 means leaping right into all of those resolutions! Sooner started, sooner failed, right? Hey now, just kidding! I think all of these are easy enough to meet! The first one I really want to start on is... Continue reading

I've been debating about buying this book, but I think I'll have to cave in and pick it up now! (seriously, it has "dessert" int he title: why was I even second-guessing this?)

Yay for homemade bread!!!! i never realized you hadn't made it before. It seems like such a you thing to do (you know, w/ one of your fabulous aprons on and whatnot). Such a great experience! I'm glad you've had it!

That's so sad! Your box was so beautiful and well-thought-out. Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers (not to go all Streetcar Named Desire on you)!
I tried Strange a couple of years ago and couldn't get into it, which bummed me b/c it's the book that everyone seems to love. Maybe I should try it again when I'm flying this weekend: a captive audience. :)

I had no idea about the individual flower for your actual birthday! I've learned something!!!!! I'm a buttercup (although I'm a serious fan of the birth month flower, morning glory!)

Awesome! That's definitely a technique I would like to try. I've also wanted to try to take those pictures where you make a real scene look like a miniature, but I haven't gotten around to it. More thoughts than time, I guess....

I am the same way when people sart griping here during the summer! Yes, 116 degrees is hot, but it's super low humidity so that's beyond helpful, shade works here (unlike in Louisiana), and what did people expect moving to the desert? Crazy people!

i'm so glad you said, "bite me." I hate when someone types a post and then people apparently get all whiney in the comments and then the post-writer has to get defensive and it's like, "People, it's her blog. You haven't had a vacation in whatever years, then whine about it on your blog. Don't make the blogger feel bad." Off my soapbox now! ;)
