WOW! I am not a mom but, I can see how that would be unnerving... I for one would have said something and not been very nice about it. Of course, I can be a chatty cathy with strangers but, most people can take a hint! I have found that among most of m friends, I am the only one without children. They actually like to have me around because that means there will be no having to feel the need to talk non stop about them. I always ask how their children are and am genuinely interested but, even I know... most moms... need a CHILD BREAK!
As someone who was married to a man who used to hide purchases... I wonder if these women understand its always found out! People who do that are more then irresponsible.. they are down right CLUELESS! What a bad example they must be teaching their childred... I applaud you and Brent for being responsilbe parents and showing your children that wants and needs are different. Its sad that that is lost on so many children who have no grown up to adults and think that instant gratification is what matters.

Congrats to all the winners... I have one question, how do I know which is your Face Book account?

I've seen a lot of great ideas posted and so much originality. I say, why not incorporate something different each month... During say, Breast Cancer awareness month, your encourage readers to do something for a charity that can benefit from the donation of time. There are plenty of Walks/Runs held during that month and they can always use volunteers to help out. And during say December, have people donate time to a soup kitchen or food pantry... During the winter months, have the readers do random acts of kindness... kind of the pay it forward idea. You can put it out a month prior so that everyone would have time to find a worth while way to participate and also take time off of work if need be. This would also give you a chance to run something for a longer stretch, say 2 or 3 months so that it wouldn't over burden you with time to pick the winner of the prize. Let's be honest here, if you get more people giving of their time in the name of charity, aren't we all winners!
