Wil, that's a terrible ordeal and utterly devastating. I feel for you, I really do. I think it is best to go after the perpetraitor with legal action. It's risky to put yourself in that type of situation as a noted personality. It could be taken up by the press in not so supportive ways. But if you do, I know everyone here supports you. We have your back. If you come across any good talking points that we can call our reps with, let us know. Environmental groups put together talking points for issues all the time. Calls and snail mail letters do work. They are counted. I'll take a look too, later this week. I know lots of people have shared your experience. Thank you for telling us your story.

I haven't thought about Hidden Pictures in several years. I too did not understand that I could get Highlights delivered to me - IN THE MAIL. A couple of years ago I very enthusiastically shared a Highlights Hidden Pictures with my son. He did not share my thrill of finding combs, cats and cups amongst lines of tree trunks or clouds in the sky. I actually tried to convince him of the "coolness" of the puzzle. I learned a lesson that day as a mom. Cool stuff from my childhood is not always cool in today's childverse. It ouched. So glad that at least Star Wars is cross-generationally cool.

I was 14 in my freshman year of high school science class with Sister Georgann. I can still see her getting upset when it was announced over the pa. I was shocked. And yes, every time a shuttle launches, I hold my breath. I beleive Christie McAulifeee was on that shuttle. She was to be "the first teacher" to fly into space. Not sure how I felt about that particular aspect of the program, but it's what happened. I too feared we would never go back to space. I am glad we did, despite the next disaster with Columbia. We have to keep going, keep trying, keep shooting for the stars. My youngest who is 4 says he wants to go to the moon. I tell him that he can go! I am glad that I am a parent at a time when I can say it's possible, despite the dangers.

So um, I came here for support in my geekdom and have found someone who's a geek WITH MORE PARENTING EXPERIENCE THEN ME. Bonus! Your 2 boys are gorgeous (watch out!). You have really done a great job. I have two sort of little boys and parenting today in the connected reg world is hard and your doing it in lalala land. Kudos.
