David, You may be surprised to see what kind of results one would get when A/B testing pictures of "real" people vs "stock" ones. Then again, you may not be surprised. In the end, I'd argue that whatever works best for conversion is arguably what's best for the site. Sometimes, it's a picture of a giant panda, not a bunch of people sitting around a boardroom, that yields the best results. Go figure O_o
