Goodness gracious, that article has made me sick since last night...combined with the Thunder t-shirt, NBA.com is off my bookmarked pages.
I flew down to Miami this morning for the game...send the good mojo redsarmy.com readers!
Your Morning Dump... Where the Celtics stand in the way of Heaven
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. There are certain favors you ask at great, great risk. Such as: Borrow large sums of money. Help move a piano. Take care of yo...

Hec, you gotta invest in an '08 opening night jersey w/ the championship patch on the shoulder!
FanFriday #25 "Bleeding green in R.I."
This week's featured fan is Hector from Providence, Rhode Island. Hector is not-only a fan of the GreenTeam, but he's also an avid collector of C's jerseys. He also has a nice selection of Sox, Patriots & Bruins gear. But don't take my word for it. Let the man himself tell you: Hector has be...
The only thing that is totally true about what Simmons had to say was that no free agents will sign here. Ugh. Starting roster predictions for '12-'13???
We read Bill Simmons, so you don't have to
Bill Simmons shreds Danny Ainge is his latest column on Grantland. He claims Danny hasn't made a "good move" in 4 years (P.J. Brown). The column is written as the transcript of an anniversary party hosted by Glenn Ordway with several guests. Here are some excerpts: Ordway: "Unfortunately, it's ...
Quick - can we get Dooling in on a new deal with New Orleans?!?!
At this point, if Obama damaged Rondo - Danny surely has...
Breaking Update: Chris Paul to LA in 3-team deal with Houston
Twitter / @WojYahooNBA: Hornets working to finaliz ... via kwout Starting a new post just to manage this a little bit better. Let's see how this all shakes out.
I'd take a thin bench + Bryant, Paul and Howard. I'd mortgage 5 years
of picks for Paul and Howard together on long-term deals. Whatever
3rd team need to come into play!
The Magic (as a business) have to trade Howard this season.
Crazy one - that actually works out better for the Heat...LeBron for
Howard and Nelson...Nelson, Wade, Swingman X, Bosh and Howard is too
good. Ha Ha Ha

Right - so give me some examples of teams that DONT trade their
players in the last year of their contract...ever work out for them?
Magic will have to get some value for him - better than getting
nothing.

Not being a smart-ass...why can't the Lakers now trade Bynum to Magic for Howard and not wait 'til next year? Seems logical, no?

From the horses mouth - just arrived in my inbox:
"By selecting the Base Plan, you will receive a refund of your season ticket purchase price for each game canceled, plus interest equal to 1% of the paid balance of the account as of October 1, 2011, with adjustments to account balance for games previously refunded. You will be paid on a monthly basis for amounts due from games canceled during the previous month, with interest accruing on a “simple interest” basis, monthly. You will not receive refunds of the ticket price for canceled games until the funds in your account exceed the value of remaining scheduled games. Refunds for October games missed will occur via check or the means of payment you have used on the account, on or before November 10, 2011. Refunds for November games missed will occur on or before December 10, 2011."
So as soon as the funds in my account exceed the value of remaining scheduled games, I'll get $$$ back.
Stern blows up the first two weeks
David Stern blew up the first two weeks of the regular season, costing the Celtics home games against Cleveland, Charlotte and the Clippers. So no Blake Griffin in Boston this season. Sorry Celtics fans. You lose on what would have been a must-see player. I had to cut and paste this part of...
Which plan did you pick? 8%, 4% or 1%? I picked 1% and if any games
get cancelled beyond what already has been, I'll get a check monthly
once the games total the amount I owe, so according to my account
exec., I'd get my first check Dec. 1st for all the Oct. & Nov. games
if they are cancelled.
I have 4 seats and still owe just over $700, so the 5 games already
scrapped gets me to about $650 so they'll start owing me once 1 more
game is cancelled - make sense?
Also, you have the option to pay off that last $200+ (whatever you
still owe) if you chose the 1% and get checks too!

Not sure where you are getting your information, but you are incorrect. I will get a check monthly once they miss games. So far, 2 preseason games and 3 regular season games have been cancelled.
To be exact: "You will receive a refund of your season ticket purchase price for each game cancelled, plus interest equal to 1% of the paid balance of the account...You will be paid on a monthly basis for amounts due from games cancelled during the previous month, with interest accruing on a “simple interest” basis, monthly."

Why I will always go back to the NBA
This is from a piece I wrote for Crossover Chronicles: Basketball has been there for me. In high school, in college, and even beyond. It has taken me around the country and around the world. And now, basketball keeps giving back to me by fueling a passion that fills these, and other pages. No m...
That is total BS, lol. Jordan XI is one of the greatest sneaks ever. You have to factor in the fact that there is less local love for Nate these days.
Celtics Sneaker Madness: big upset!
In easily the biggest upset of the tourney, Ray Allen's Phase 23 away p.e. has defeated possibly the most iconic sneaker ever-the Air Jordan XI Space Jam. Ray's Jordan Phase 23 won with 66% of the votes. Now granted-I know that with summer here and more importantly the lockout in effect that our...

Lockout driving me nuts. Thanks for still posting daily.
F*** a lockout... It's Celtics night on NBA TV!
For one night, we can put all this lockout talk behind us and escape through the wormhole known as NBA TV. You see, that lockout is preventing NBA TV from showing any players from the past couple of decades. And you know what, that's fine with me, because Celtics history is rich enough (and ...
What the hell is Rondo wearing?
What has Rajon Rondo been playing through all year?
In last night's post game, KG dropped a quote that probably caught a lot of people's attention. He was talking about seeing Rondo come back from the dislocated elbow... and then he said this: "I've seen [Rondo] play through some [injuries]," Garnett said after the game. "I'm not going to go t...
In the first 5 minutes of the game, given their jawing, I thought things were shaping up to be a LeBron vs. Paul duel - but the game turned out to be so much more than that...
My key take away from watching a combination of NBA TV, Comcast SportNet, and ESPN over the past 8 hours or so? Dwayne Wade is a punk-ass bitch.
Your Morning Dump... Did we witness KG's best?
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. "I was aggressive," said Garnett. "I won’t call it a zone. I’ve been in a zone and that wasn’t it. Man, I’ve been in a zone a...
Walt Bellamy is the man. He was, however, pretty skinny, no???
As I watch Dwight lose in Rd. 1, I think of this argument and yawn.
Dwight's better than Russ? It's an impossible argument
Bill Russell is as untouchable a figure in Celtics lore as anyone is to any team's history. Question him or his greatness and you will incur the wrath of Celtics fans far and wide. Dare to imply that any current player can hold a candle to him and you face being stoned in the town square. I'm...
I have a sneaking suspicion that Douglas backpedaled his way right outta the League.
Toney Douglas: Great at backpedaling, bad at defense
Toney bit harder on that shoulder fake than Chuck bit into that triple bacon cheese burger yesterday. I've never seen anyone fall for a fake like that since Chuck with that transvestite last weekend. Hold on... I've got one more.... No one's back-pedaled that fast since Chuck was caught ...
Exactly.
With only Rondo (and Truth) under contract for 2012, I'd think some
people might want to come play with him.
Shaq injures right calf, not Achilles
Here's an important update to Shaq's injury. It's the right calf... and not his Achilles. I repeat... it's the right calf and not the Achilles. What's the deal with severe calf injuries? KG had a similar injury a few months back vs the Pistons. (video courtesy Jose3030)
Dwight shouldn't rule out Bos, Bklyn, NY, NO, LAL or Anaheim. He'll
go where the point guards are.
Once he goes somewhere besides Boston, I'll continue on my current
course of thinking he is soft and beatable.

Not looking past this season - but just to start thinking about free agent Centers in 2011...I think we should make a HUGE push for Tyson Chandler. Other options are: Kwame Brown (ouch), Marc Gasol, Dan Gadzuric (double ouch), Ronny Turiaf (yowch), Spencer Hawes, Samuel Dalembert?
2012: JaVale McGee, Marcus Camby, Robin & Brook Lopez (can we get them to sign one contract, otherwise, no), Dwight Howard, Kevin Love, Roy Hibbert?
Keep in mind, all of those 2012 Centers will be trade bait for the 2011-2012 season as well.
If I was Dwight, I wouldn't rule out Boston. I bet if we just had Bill Russell do the recruiting it might happen...

Breathlessly singing the praises of the Murphy free-agent signing? I don't quite remember that. He was never going to be more than a 13th man when the C's are at full strength.
Recap: C's their own worst enemy, lose to Grizzlies
The Celtics had their chances in this one. But they just made way too many mistakes. The Celtics turned it over 18 times. They got crushed in the paint. They got crushed on the boards and in second chance points. And in the last minute of the game when they were trailing by 1, Rajon Rondo la...
