I had never seen Stand By Me, but after reading this post I decided that I had to. There was just something about how openly and honestly you relate the tale of your reunion, and the filming itself. Watching this movie didn't feel optional, if you get my meaning. I felt it was something I had to do. Watching the film for the first time only after reading your memories of it had a profound effect on my viewing. This movie made me feel bittersweetly miserable in the best possible way. I can't wait for the Bluray commentary, though I'll have to buy/borrow/steal a Bluray player for that. Thank you for sharing your experience and, in doing, introducing me and countless others to this wonderful movie.
