"as his kilt rises..."
I think this is one of those rare things that can be equally enjoyed* by those who have context, and those who don't. *for very disturbing values of 'enjoyed'

Oh my gods, THIS! Used to watch Night Court on Nick at Nite with my mother, who was a BIG Night Court fan. I emailed the link to the video to her. Hopefully, she doesn't do a spit-take on her lunch break.
If I go to Dragon*Con this year and have the opportunity to meet Brent, I'm definitely telling him how much of a fan I was of Bob...and I'll also thank him for enabling me to have an early command of Spanish.
"Mi llamo es Bob."
Yesterday, I saw this video linked at Reddit. It's one of those things that I haven't thought about in years, but the instant I saw it, it unlocked some memories, one of which I left as a comment: I was a huge Night Court nerd when I was a kid, and from time to time I would ask Brent to do ...
Oh god, I HATE when that happens!
I was in San Antonio in December, and I walked around with a toy bear under my arm for most of the return trip. It was a Christmas present from a friend (we have an inside joke about bears), and there wasn't any room in my carry-on bag. Not only did I feel like people were staring because they thought I stole the bear, I also got the whole "Oh my god, you're an adult and you're CARRYING AROUND A TOY BEAR?!?" stare.
Awkward!stares are awkward. :(
rain down on me from a great height
I had a very short day today, and was wrapped just after lunch, so I had the afternoon to myself to take care of some very important business. Before I get to that, though, a little bit about working on Eureka... The good news is that I was given permission to twitter and photograph from the set...
I'd be shocked if that happened, but a lot of women (myself included, not gonna lie) sometimes have a pull towards the bad boys, so...
The Wheaton Recurrence
It's Sunday afternoon as I write this. I can't publish this manually, because if I've read my call sheet correctly, I'm currently playing Dr. Isaac Parrish on Eureka. If we're on schedule, I'm working in a scene with Erica, Colin, and Neil. If my experience on the show so far is any indication, ...
I think we should start the internet petitions now, just to be safe. Heck, they got Betty White a hosting gig on SNL...I'm SURE they can get Wil another TBBT appearance! :D

I just got off the phone with my little sister, who answered the phone with "Wheeeeeeaton!" She, myself, and a lot of my friends on Twitter and otherwise, have dedcided that you should be on TBBT all the time, because Evil Wil is just AWESOME against Sheldon. You and Jim Parsons really play well off each other.
I fully agree with KJK's comment above me. The evil, it was delicious. I declare this episode an Epic Win. :-D

Someday I'll get the cash together to go to ECCC. This year just wasn't my year. My "Drunken New Year's Week in San Antonio" trip cleaned me out of cash. Sounds like you had an awesome time! :D
the obligatory emerald city comicon post
Now that I'm home from Seattle, I'm right back to editing and rewriting and obsessively perfecting my PAX East keynote, but before I can give that the focus it requires, I need to talk a little bit about this year's Emerald City Comicon. First, the good: The dungeon delve I wrote and ran was rea...
I bought that t-shirt on Saturday. My little sister was pretty jealous, because she'd already spent all her money on shoes and dresses. I've finally found a way to get her to go into Hot Topic! :-D
Hi, I'm Wil Wheaton. I'm not a dick, but I play one on TV...
The first appearance of Evil Wil Wheaton on The Big Bang Theory is airing again tonight, so I thought I'd gather up all the posts I wrote while working on it in one place: leveling up while geeking out on the set of the big bang theory I remember being in drama school in my early twenties, and ...
I think I need to get me a subscription to Mental Floss immediately...wait, are those Peppridge Farm cookies?!? *distracted by the delicious*
I love behind-the-scenes pictures like this. It's fun to see all the little details that bond into one big atom of awesomeness. :D
The Cooper-Hofstadter Coffee Table Proof
(Image by me. Click to embiggen. Please link to this post if you reuse it.) As I walked from the comic shop set down to the bowling alley set today, I passed the set for Leonard and Sheldon's apartment, which is in the center of the stage. I gawked at it the way you do when you're a fan of th...
I love it when old friends get in touch out of the blue. Happened to me last weekend, before I went back up to college. Saw one of my oldest friends from high school (who I hadn't seen since she brought her newborn son over to my mom's house last March, right after they got out of the hospital) and her sister. Got their new numbers, which was good timing, because I was one of the first to see the pictures of her sister's baby when it was born the next morning.
I hope someday soon I get the chance to be cool, so my kids can tell me that I used to be cool. We don't tell my mom that, though, because she still is cool. How can a person who asks their 22 year old daughter if she's got a copy of Dark Side of the Moon handy when said daughter says she's watching The Wizard of Oz NOT be cool?
in which a text is received and a phone call is made
I'm up to my neck in Memories of the Future Volume 2 work, but I wanted to take a minute to share something cool that happened yesterday... The familiar chirp of an Original Series communicator came out of my Blackberry, announcing the arrival of a text message. I thumbed it a couple times and r...
Merry Happy Wheaton Family! :D
That bit where he goes "Oh, I almost forgot revenge against my enemies!" always cracks me up.
Christmas Wishes from Steve Martin, and Me, Wil Wheaton
Steve Martin has a Christmas wish to share with you: (If you can't see Hulu videos, or just want the audio, YouTube has you covered. It's a Christmas miracle!) And here's my holiday wish, which isn't nearly as funny, but is at least (if not more) sincere: Whatever you choose to celebrate t...
Oh for the love of all things sacred. I just got myself yelled at...because I was laughing so loud at this that my mom woke up and discovered I was still awake. I was supposed to be in bed an hour or so ago. And now I'm not sure that I'll be able to go to sleep with that firmly implanted in my brain.
Side Note: I can't see the Slap-Chop or its commercials without remembering what happened when I told my mom and little sister that the guy got arrested. My little sister had the car mirror on the passenger side flipped down, and she looked at me in the mirror and went "Guess she didn't love his nuts." There is hope for her yet. :D
for all you last-minute shoppers out there...
While you're out doing your last minute holiday shopping, you may happen upon a little device known as The Slap Chop. You may have seen it on TV, and you may have heard that it purports to: "Chop up vegetables, nuts, & fruits, quickly and easily" with just a few simple slaps. And who doesn't lik...
Maybe the original Doctor Who series wouldn't have lost ratings if Peter Davison had regenerated into Wil instead of Colin Baker. I'm pretty sure it's acknowledged that Baker 2.0 killed the ratings...fellow Whovians, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Looking back on all the TNG episodes I watched in reruns when I was old enough to understand what was going on (was born in October of '87, and LITERALLY grew up watching the show), and reading that article, it all makes sense! Wesley is a Time Lord. The evidence all fits! Any and all naysayers will have their Enchanted Bunnies killed by a small rock immediately.
Also, Pike was totally Davros. But that's just a theory of mine right now. Unlike Wesley being a Time Lord, there isn't really proof of that. XD
in which the secret identity of wesley crusher is revealed
Imagine if Television Without Pity recappers had been writing about TNG back in 1987, only with more swearing, more digressions and more geeky in-jokes, plus behind-the-scenes memories for every episode. That’s what Vol. 1 does for the first half of the first season of TNG, from “Encounter at Fa...
Oh man. That was BRILLIANT! Thought I'd missed it because of Heroes, and then I got a text from-of all people-my 16 year old sister going "Big Bang Theory starts at 9:30, and Wil Wheaton's going to be on it. I'm excited!"
Cue my jaw dropping as I frantically happy dance around my room, glad that I didn't miss it. My little sister called me when the episode was over, and was in hysterics that were just as bad as mine. I really hope they have you back again.
Side Note: This morning, got a text from my little sister. Was annoyed because it was my day off from classes and I wanted to sleep, until I saw that the texted consisted of one thing: "WHEAATTTOONNNNN!" For the first time in about a year and a half, I laughed myself out of bed and onto the floor.
The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary
I'm at w00tstock right now, and I haven't even seen the show, but I thought it would be fun to write a post in advance so anyone who watched The Big Bang Theory tonight would have a place to talk about it. If everything goes according to plan, this should post right as the episode is finishing o...
*pours one out for Aeofel* (And if the guy at the liqour store later on today doesn't realize that my ID is expired, I'll pour one out using actual alcohol later. The damn thing proves I'm 22...who cares if it expired at the end of last month?!?)
Y'know, I was gonna go to class today, maybe learn some more stuff about management information systems. But damn it, today is my birthday, and I'm going to spend it however the hell I feel like it, and I feel like sitting on my ass in my apartment & listening to the D&D podcasts. Scholastic pursuits got in the way of me listening to the majority of season 2, but not anymore! For I have iTunes open because I was charging mah la-iPod last night, and I'll honor Aeofel by reliving his epic adventures!
Note: If my one-time academic delinquency causes me to miss a test or something, I won't hold you responsible, Wil. I'll just tell my mom I overslept or something. XD
I'm saying this for the last time: HIS. NAME. IS. AEOFEL!
I've been pointing out new episodes of the D&D/Penny Arcade/PvP/Me podcast on Twitter, but since the third series draws to a close today, I thought I'd catch up, and then share some thoughts on the final episode. My last post took us up to episode three, so... Episode Four: In this episode, the...
Oh my god. Wil, you and your family have my deepest sympathies. That's heartbreaking. :(
through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes
My dog Ferris, who was rescued from a bus stop in Monrovia by my wife Anne almost exactly 8 years ago, had a heart attack and died this morning. It happened very quickly, and I was with her, which is supposed to make me feel better, but at this moment all I can feel is nearly-unbearable sorrow, ...
The Twitter spambots are getting ridiculous. It's gotten to the point where my friends and I can't even talk about furniture without a spambot following us (I shit you not, that actually happened) or throwing its wooden two cents in. Hopefully, Twitter finds some way to better take care of these assclams. If all else fails, at least I still have texting and (LE GASP!) actual phone calls.
@shewhoisAnna
the spambots on twitter are completely out of control
A few months ago, Twitter changed their @replies tab into something called @mentions. This had a significant impact on a lot of us who use Twitter, especially those of us with a large number of followers. Originally, I'd only see a message with @wilw in it if that's the way the message began. It...
Freddy seemed like my kind of cat: curled up in a comfy chair, passed out with a bottle of some sort in tow (although in my case, it's usually a bottle of Coke or Pepsi).
*pours one out for Freddy Snowpants* Zip zip zip, little fella. You'll be missed.
RIP Freddy Snowpants
My brother had one of the coolest cats in the world. We called him Freddy Snowpants, because he had furry fat hind legs that looked like he was wearing snowpants when he walked. One of my favorite things to do was stand behind him and make the "zip zip zip" noise, which always resulted in much m...
Oh damn it. RickRoll'd by Wil Wheaton, and I missed the first 5 minutes of Ocean's Thirteen & dropped my cell phone while talking to my little sister because I was laughing so hard. At least I didn't drop my sandwich. :D
...and the livin' is easy.
Hey, remember when I posted stuff in my blog every day and we all had a good time while learning? It's a distant memory, but if you squint, you may be able to pick it up. Anyway. It's summer, I've been working on awesome projects that I can't talk about, finishing up awesome projects that I've t...
My late father was a Vietnam veteran, and not a day goes by that I'm not amazed at what he and the soldiers he served with had to endure, overseas AND at home. It gives me personally a better appreciation as a civillian of just how hard it is for our soldiers overseas now, and I'm even more amazed at what they are able to deal with currently.
Happy Memorial Day, Wil. :)
Their action and sacrifice will always be remembered.

The Monty Python reference made me giggle. The bit about the sexy party made me choke on my vodka cocktail. Well played, sir.
I'm really looking forward to this book. Some of my hard-earned cash will definitely be paying for it once it's ready for the masses. :D
"if you treat her right, she'll always bring you home."
On Twitter yesterday, I said, "And now, a useless fact, brought to you by 'I need a break from rewriting Encounter At Farpoint': I loved Mike Tyson's Punchout on NES." I was flooded with replies that were variations of "WTF? Rewriting Encounter at Farpoint? Why?" I can see how, lacking context, ...

Happy International Drunks Day, which I can FINALLY CELEBRATE THIS YEAR! :-D
happy jedi day
Last year, while we were out running errands, my wife surprised me with an awesome geek moment: Anne: It's Jedi day! Me: What? Anne: May the Fourth be with you. Me: OMG I am so sending that to Twitter.Just so the historical record is clear: my wife, who is the beauty half of our beauty and the ...
I'd like to know too! I was always of the opinion that you don't have to have one to be one, but that's just me.
So I second your query. Wil, yea or nay: Is it possible for a girl to be a dick?
