I tip when I get good service. The expectation I should tip BEFORE I get my drink is unacceptable to me. A tip is gratitude for good service.
I can't remember the last time I had a properly made drink at a Starbucks, no matter whether it is my regular one or one I've never been too.
Also, Starbucks in Airport? Yeah, you suck. You get nothing.
Don't forget to tip your barista when you're paying with your phone app
OK, Starbucks baristas, you've got at least one customer on your side in the tipping debate. Al Sacco writes: "The Dunkin' and Starbucks apps make it quicker and easier for people to pay for their coffee, assuming they know how to use them and don't fumble with their phones for five minutes ev...
The problem the Scion xb has is very simple... fuel economy. They took what was once a quirky fun box and stuck an oversized engine into it, because the American market told them they wanted more power, and once again a car company blindly listened and did what focus groups said instead of causing on raw check list numbers that sell cars.
When your market is youth (is. People with less money because they are just starting out) fuel economy is a factor.
If Toyota had upgraded the Gen xB with the same engine and did the same interior changes, they probably could have sold more and sold them cheaper than what they were for the Gen 2 xb.
Kia Soul: Last Box Standing?
It seemed like the automotive industry was all about thinking inside the box during the last few years, with squared-off entries from Honda, Scion, Nissan and Kia entering the market. Since the midsize Honda Element debuted in 2002, it's been followed by the compact Scion xB and subcompact Nis...

Consistency and Hitting It Hard
As my first day of ‘consistency’ as this week is supposed to be all about, I was able to pull off a thirty minute session with my trainer, and twenty minutes of cardio workout. The training session consisted of working... Continue reading

Sweat the Little Things
I've allowed myself to get side tracked on my workout efforts for many reasons; some are good, some are not. Regardless of the reasons, I need to get things back on track, and this week begins that attempt. I've been... Continue reading

The site clearly states the shirts are "Made in USA". Not necessarily made in Detroit, however.
Imported From Detroit T-Shirts are Pricey
One of the most impressive car commercials from this year’s Super Bowl was Chrysler’s featuring rapper Eminem and the tag line “Imported From Detroit.” Chrysler has been basking in the glow of this advertising success story, but we wonder if the tag line resonated with those outside the auto i...

Hit Fast, Hit Hard... Wait, Where the Hell Did All This Snow Come From?
At the outset of the year, I set three goals. Essentially: work out, ignore the weather, and visit with a personal trainer once a week. Let's update on those three goals now: Work Out Quite simply, I did not keep... Continue reading

I've never been one to make "New Year Resolutions" nor have I been one to really begin to understand the obsession over the concept of the "New Year". It is an arbitrary date selected solely through chance that this would... Continue reading

Reality - I'm Dying
Reality Check. I'm Dying. We're all dying. It is just a matter of how quickly it comes to us. For some, it will be sooner, rather than later. We have bad habits, whether involving diet, or just bad things we... Continue reading

The New York Subway Announcement Lady - NYTimes.com
no offense to her, but I can’t stand this woman’s voice. Why is she such a popular choice around the world? The article doesn’t begin to explain. And in NYC of all places, why should we have to hear a down-home twang? She makes it sound as if square dances are about to start on the platform. via cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com The absolutely best comment about the subway voice. Continue reading

Let's privatize the roads, as someone here suggested. After all, while the government only needs to break even on road construction to income, I am certain that a private company trying to make a profit on that very same road will have the best interests of the people in mind.
After all, it is free enterprise, right? If I don't like their road, I will just drive on someone else's road.
Low Gas Tax Could Cost Drivers More
Amid budget cutbacks, the deterioration of America’s roads, bridges and highways has accelerated to an alarming degree. The kicker, however, is that by forsaking the notion of raising the gas tax, car owners may end up costing themselves more money in the long run. Earlier this month, retiri...
