thanks ummabdulla . Actually I did some checking. Weapons markings are done in western calender and the code should tell what plant manufactured the round. Haven't been able to verify if the code is an Iranian factory. I have found out that Iran does in fact manufacture these rounds.
Of course even if the number turns out to be Iranian, I personally take it with a pinch of salt considering it is the US administration claiming it. They have a track record at best being wrong, at worst falsifying data. Bush wants a war with Iran, anything that helps that is going to be touted.
Fool Me Twice, Shame On (...Where Do I Start?)
So the government now has proof positive Iranian weaponry is being used against American troops in Iraq , right? So, which of these images, released yesterday, seal the Iranian case, and which were circulated in 2003 as proof positive of Iraqi WMD? Really, ...
Someone correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Iran have their own year system and don't use the Western method? So that date would be very different?

Your Turn: Bush In Sugar Land
Did the White House confuse Halloween with the Fourth of July? Or, Shock and Awe? The BAG wasn't planning on another Bush post so soon, but this pic stopped the presses. I can't wait for your thoughts on this shot from W's Texas campaign trip. Traveling with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinso...
"I've never criticized President Bush, and I don't think it is useful."
Clinton has the right idea (all be it with the wrong person) and he points it out in the interview.
Being president is about many things. Looking after the minority voice for example.
It is less about Right/Left and doing what is best for Americans and the world as a whole.
This is what made him a great president (despite his dodgy history).
Compare that to Bush, I recall someone on Fox news around the time of the second election where someone asked "Now that the totals were so close do you think Bush will look after both sides (left and right)". The response was "Why should he? He won".
That has been the whole attitude all along. Not about looking after the country but about "Winning".
Bill Clinton: Sleeping Giant
I had seven or eight carefully selected screen shots to share with you featuring Clinton with his Irish up. But really, is there a more telling frame than this? I'm was as gratified as anybody to see Clinton stand up to Fox, Chris Wallace, ABC, the neocons, the whole cabal. The only prob...
Maybe its just me and my eyes playing tricks on me. Whatever they are photographed (the blurring) is making the pictures look fake.
What I mean is like in the old movies where it switches to a model of boat/plane/building that is about blowup/etc.
The car for example to me looks like a matchbox car buried in a sandpit. The fridges in the front don't seem to sync in depth to the rest of the picture and the building likes like it could of easily of been photoshopped into a beach scene.
Not saying they are fake, just how they are shot is triggering my brain that way (don't know why).
Your Turn: Something That Isn't There
(click any for full size) I spent a month on the Gulf Coast in January working on a story for National Geographic Magazine, published this month in a 24 page article. The idea was to take a look at the coast months after the storms, and see what, if any, progress had been made to t...
I watched the destruction of the place on EuroNews. While they had outside shots of the area, I don't recall seeing any soliders in any of the shots standing in a line or otherwise. The UN building was also long since abandoned before the rioters had gotten there.
The picture reminds me of the time the Chinese embassy was bombed by the US. Riots broke out in China on the Embassy street over it and the cops stood back and let the riots continue but it was a bit more civil (only brick throwing and general chanting).
Feet To The Fire
I have my doubts about the Lebanese peace plan -- at least as far as the Lebanese army is concerned. Following the lethal Qana air strikes, variations on the photo above were widely distributed. The images showed protesters smashing the windows of the U.N. building in downtown Beirut shor...
The second picture was saturated because it came from GeoEye looks like.
Nice link there readytoblowagasket, if you look at other areas of the map you can clearly see that the attacks where mainly to disable Beruit. For example take a look at the airport. Every runway is bombed, there is a structure to the right of the main building looks like its been bombed too.
I doubt very much there were mobile missile launchers from these locations and Hezbollah don't have an airforce.

Any chance you get the pictures of the airports hit? The Dams? We can draw lines around them too.
Incidently your not going to see any more damage to Beruit. Lebanon said they would turn Tel Aviv into a car park if Israel attack Beruit again.
This breakdown of pictures is annoying tbh. I keep seeing posts from various people trying to prove that people aren't dying because they can prove that a picture may or may not be fake or 1-2 people get caught trying to play up to the press.
I see on the TV now that Hezbollah have said they will honour the ceasefire at the deadline posted while Israel have said "aahh, we will think about it'.

I have to agree with Stiffmittens on this one. The picture he was caught out on is horribly photoshopped. My 5 year old niece could do a better job.
But oddly enough this story has been spammed to a numerous organisations by GIYUS.ORG. A program set up by the Israeli foriegn office (using over 5,000 trainee diplomats) to push pro-Israeli agendas across. This article was annouced for spamming yesterday. It is even on Slashdot, which is a tech site by nature.
Yes the pictures are faked, but it should not distract people from the fact of the number innocent people dead and displaced in Lebanon.
Where There's Smoke, There's ... Smoke?
The shot above is Reuters photographer Adnan Hajj's original photo of an Israeli air strike, taken two days ago. The one below is the photoshopped version that got him canned yesterday. By almost all accounts, Mr. Hajj was caught trying -- in the most amateur sort of way -- to enhance t...
It's a breast people. What are you living in? Iran?
Any Boob Can Tell You
In about three weeks, the fam and I will be relocating to Spain for the coming school year. (Don't worry. I'll have more time to blog.) Anyway, this is just one of the reasons why: Breast-feeding cover upsets magazine readers Associated Press Jul. 28, 2006 12:00 AM NEW YORK - "I was S...
The picture is strange. He is supposed to be a rocket but his posture would suggest he isn't moving (despite the motion blur added).
As for the rocketman bit, it reminded me of this.

Hard to take anyone serious after Shatner crucified the song.
Thrust In The Spotlight
1. The BAG is taking a risk trying to interpret this after having just seen "Superman." 2. Honestly, I'm not getting the message here. Is this about ascendency? Or, forty seconds of fame, then a flame out? 3. Maybe last week's fireworks (not to mention, publicity like this) were pa...
