Jeff makes a good point, but it doesn't really apply to the real world. Along the same lines, one could argue that if you have a resume, it is a sign that you can't find a job since if you are good companies fall over themselves trying to recruit you, not the other way around. I like to think advertising is a way to educate consumers, not really a desperate plea.
