I am so sorry. I had a similar hideous experience in January. I'm a woman so the female TSA agent patted me down...and stuck her hand not jus in my pants but in my underwear. I peed my pants, which was in the top 5 of humiliating experiences and SO what I needed first thing in the morning. My therapist is going to write me a note for the next time I fly, let's see if that does anything.

I'm glad she made it through surgery. My guinea pig had surgery a year ago & it is so hard to tell how they are recovering when all they do is pee & spaz out. My awesome cat story: I have a kitten named Dr Mulder [X-Files/Dr Who reference]. I was having an extraordinarily bad week-a friend's dad died, I was moving, a friend was getting divorced etc. I was walking in the front door with a friend of mine, saying "if one more thing goes wrong I'm going to have a nervous breakdown". The straw that broke the camel's back? Mulder had gotten on the counter, stolen a roll of paper towels & shredded them all over the kitchen. I started laughing so hysterically I started crying. The cat just sat there with that "what did I do? I"m precious" face. Oh it was special. A week later, I was with the same person & I heard noise coming from the bathroom & the cat had knocked over the trashcan & was dragging pads through the house.

When my apartment was broken into, I lost my ipod. I hadn't really thought how much of my music was only on itunes or that my cd's were packed away, never to be used again. I lost about 1/4 of my music collection by losing something the size of a deck of playing cards. Still, I loved having an ipod. I'm 27 so I remember carrying a walkman around, or a discman, & worrying about losing tapes/cds. I'm a big fan of cell phones-I do not miss using a roatary phone or teaching my parents how to program the answering machine. My absolute favorite technology, which I've been hooked on since high school, is instant message services. I use g'chat & aim as my main form of communication & it's fantastic.

I have had two of my friends react by squealing & babbling when they met you. One had the excuse of being around 12 years old at the time . Her reaction was "oh my gosh I have *such* a crush on you!!". You looked mildly horrified but that was probably the 10 year age difference. The other one is married but told me she lost all sane questions when she was you at PAX. I think it's you being awesome, not the crazy of your fans.

I think "The Offspring" & "Datalore" are the 2 main source of clips. Whoever made this was using clips from season 2 & 3 (as someone else mentioned). Someone make the research for my master's thesis this interesting.

1. I'll have my MA on Saturday. 2. I get to see my friends from high school & college over the next 2 weeks. 3. Matt loaned me enough Buffy dvds to get through the rest of my paper writing If only I had a post-grad job I'd be the happiest person on earth

Much as I should be ashamed to admit it, I adore my friends from the hufflepuff crew (yes we role play harry potter. shut up), the ones who ship Snager, the ones who hate RT Davies, think Cheney is Cancer Man, & bitch constantly that star trek died w/Gene Roddenberry [a fun fight to get involved in if you have 5 hours to kill]. I have this whole group of people who not only Get It but have become as close to me as friends I know in real life. I think my livejournal friends from different communities are better emotional support than what is available to me in grad school right now. I'm beyond greatful. If I get that job in Arizona I just inverviewed for, I will be a few hours away from my friend/partner in geekhood Kenyon & we can go to ComicCon & Star Trek conventions to our hearts content. (A fantastic hidden bonus I didn't share at my interview). Where I will finally meet some of these awesome people. There is nothing cooler than running into someone you've known online for 4 years & having an awesome connection in person. Fandom can be so funny. I made my first friend in my grad program by making odd Quantum Leap references, a bond that was quickly forged by realizing I could steal Dr Who from him & he could steal QL from me.

I totally fail as an American. I'm 27 & don't have a driver's license. I figure if I fail the test 3 times, am scared of the interstate & can't park well I probably shouldn't drive. I wish other people realized they shouldn't really be driving either

I'm voting tomorrow. The lines for early voting have been insane here. But I live in Ohio so I *have* to vote. I'm going to bring one of my scary medieval theology books & read in line for a few hours tomorrow...& text/bitch on twitter to amuse myself.

My youth ministry prof [I'm in grad school for theology] summed it up like this: "Teenagers brains and bodies are not working together. They are hormonally insane, surrounded by mixed messages and just found out their parents aren't perfect. Buy a lot of kleenex and chocolate and get some earplugs when they share their music."

I already tweeted at you that you were awesome/scary as hell. It's so impressive you can do something so opposite of yourself. & I thought the CSI episode was scary...geez. I second the emmy idea. I wonder if we can start a petition? Like geeks for Wheaton Emmy Campaign. Any other takers?

Stand By Me was on AMC a couple weeks ago (right after the Birdcage which made me wonder what they were smoking when they came up w/that lineup). I love that movie but it does not work w/commercial interruption.

I was in high school at the exact 90's transition between grunge & Britney Spears. The fashion choices were cringe worthy even then. Some people had flannel, other people had low-rise jeans. Mid-west fashion catastrophy I think my favorite 80's outfit is one where I'm wearing a giant shirt that may as well be a dress w/all these day-glo animals over a pair of matching leggings. Much of the 80's/early 90's I spent looking like a twisted version of Claudia Kishi/Clarissa. If it makes you feel any better I can dig out the school picture where I have glasses that take up 1/2 my face, a weird bowl hair cut w/rainbow barrets & a star trek t-shirt.

@ MntlWard I'll fight w/you over which Dr had a worse outfit (I vote 6). Or the worst pick up lines (I vote 8). Or the always fun, who had worse aliens,STOS or old school who?-you have Kirk throwing foam rocks at a godzilla thing vs. the pixel-y black hole thing in the 3 drs.

I really like that. I didn't learn how to play D & D until grad school b/c die hard gamers could not dumb it down for me w/o me wrecking the game. The friend that taught me had a modified 17B that was basically a way of making sure I didn't die 10 minutes into the game.
