Pierce for Gasol? If the idea is to get younger and taller...we would be picking up 3 years and 6 inches. Still, we`re talking about the Captain. No chance in hell this trade ever happens. Any chance they might interested in KG instead?

Unlike KG and Ray, PP has a "multi-dimensional" skill set that would allow him to age "gracefully". If I`m Ainge, I couldn`t trade PP unless Pierce actually begged me to. KG is already washed-up. Ray is a one-trick pony, and that trick could be lost overnight. No way would Wash/Sacto to give us a 1st round pick for them under any set of circumstances. As for Howard, this is where losing David West hurts. Ainge must make Howard see that he`ll be surrounded by tough, blue-collar rebounders, who will lighten his load in the paint. Howard has never had that luxury before. He`s always outrebounded any teammate by margins of 2-to-1, 3-to-1. After losing out on West, Ainge chose to "flood" the roster with former Orlando players {Pietrus-Bass-Dooling}, hoping to lure Howard that way until he can re-tool the roster in earnest for Howard.

Stay classy, Baby! Who can ever forget you drooling {just like a baby} in Game 4 vs. LA in 2010!

Bill Russell {age 78} stands a better chance of being signed by Danny!

I`ve seen enough...nothing could be more obvious, the Celtics are washed up No reason to give them "a few more weeks".

I see Red`s point...it`s no secret, Basketball is a young man`s game. KG is closing in on his 36th birthday, with a surgically repaired knee. Bad News : This is a "lost" season. Ainge knows it. The Celtics are dead in the water! Good News : Ainge will soon have a ton of cap money to spend. He`ll be extremely aggressive in doing so. He and Wyc are not going to allow this franchise to once again play before a slew of empty seats at the Garden!

Dirk v. KG : It was a "big man" version of Ray Allen beating Sasha Vujacic in 2008 {Game 4}.

KG is now a 13 pt.-7 reb. player....gone are days he was good for 23-13. Add to that Boston`s total lack of a physical presence in the paint. Bottom Line : NBA Lottery, here we come!

Danny, blow-it-up! They are on their way to finishing 28-38...no way they`ll be in the playoffs. Father Time is causing those bald heads on KG and Ray...not razors!

Should they lose tonight, it will probably lead to a 5 game losing streak. At some point during the season, Ainge will have a huge decision to make. If the Celts are still floundering in late February, just before they start playing 18 of the next 25 games on the road, do not be surprised if he blows up the team!

Do not waste your time feeling bad for Scal...he "stole" $15M from the Celtics!

I hate Thomas as much as anyone. Keep in mind, those anti-Bird comments were made minutes after Boston eliminated the Pistons, and just 4 days after Bird stole Thomas` inbound pass to win Game 5. The moron {Thomas} was still fuming when he made those remarks, and lacked the wisdom to "cool his emotions" before speaking.

Too bad Ray didn`t make the Laker defense "pay" in Game 7 of 2010. We needed a 5-for-14 performance out of him to win the title...not 3-for-14.

Given his past, Pietrus will certainly help IF he`s healthy. However, let`s be honest...thus far, Bass has been our entire bench! Quis, Steimsa, Wilcox, Dooling, Bradley, and the two rookies are merely taking up space.

We can blame the bench all we want...but, Boston just got blown-out at home, against Indiana, with The Big 3 and Rondo all playing 34-39 minutes!

Blow it up! Too old...too soft...too fragile

I can see them teetering between 6 & 7 for much of the year...but, I can also see that brutal stretch in April {11 games in 14 days} pushing the Celts completely over-the-edge.

At best, the Celtics have a 50-50 chance of making the playoffs.

Very good recap! I liked BBD, but Bass is vastly superior. Looks like Otis was extremely impressed by BBD`s performance against Orlando in 2009 playoffs, and was too willing to overlook his decline since.

Bradley is too athletic, too tenacious, too defensive minded to give up on. He`s like a young Dennis Rodman playing guard.

Ainge drafted Brooks. Trading Brooks for JaJuan Johnson might very well backfire.

Let`s hope Greg doesn`t run out of "Steam"!

There is no such thing as an "easy win" for the 2011-12 Celtics. Not even a home game against the winless Wizards two nights ago.
