I'm getting increasingly preoccupied with this. How can approximately half the population support such a party? How can the so-called liberal media continue to behave as if we are in a normal political situation, with a center-left party and center-right party in some kind of normal polity? How can President Obama still talk about working with that party? Why does almost everyone continue to treat the unhinged ranting of, e.g., Gingrich as part of normal political discourse. I don't get it.
