I think alot of us are prideful of this team, they played hard and were true professionals the whole time. KG is clearly one of the best centers in the league and to lose him would be crushing. Ray, who I would also love to get back, is more expendable. He'll be coming off surgery and hopefully be willing to stick around for less than the full mid-level. Also gonna be very interesting to see what happens with Jeff Green & Wilcox, and all the other free agents like Peaches & Dooling. DA has a busy summer with 2 1st rounders and only a handful of guys on next year's roster.
Your Morning Dump... Where Doc doesn't want to let go
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. "I don't know," said coach Doc Rivers. "Obviously, we're all smart... I think we're going to wait and see what happens with fr...
It's over now, but I'm proud of this team and the way they carried themselves this year. I never expected them to come within 8 minutes of going to the finals, and I have to think if we had even just Avery Bradley back, out of all the guys we lost this year, it might have been different. If this is the end of the Big 3 era, I'm grateful for the championship they accomplished and the one they almost got. I do expect KG back next year and hopefully Ray too.
I have no respect for the Heat and hope they get beat by Perk and OKC. Gonna be a very exciting off-season for DA and the C's and I'm excited about the future,
Recap: Celtics get Bosh'd in Game 7
Props to Chris Bosh. It was the Boshtrich (19 points, 8-10 FG, 3-4 3 FG, 8 rebounds) who led the Heat to a 101-88 victory over the Celtics tonight. Not the punky Dwyane Wade who padded his stat sheet in the 4th quarter, or the phony LeBron James. I have no desire to write a detailed recap of...
A bit dissapointed in that I just didnt feel they had a sense of urgency tonite. I still think they can bounce back and win this series though.
Recap: The Celtics blow golden opportunity
Why am I surprised? This is the 2012 Celtics. They followed up a gritty, gutty win in Miami with a pathetic peformance at home with a Finals berth on the line. LeBron James was phenomenal: 45 points, 19-26 FG and 15 rebounds. Paul Pierce was phenomenally awful: 9 points on 4-18 FG. James is goi...

The Basketball Gods smite Miami with block-to-3-pointer comeuppance
This play was all kinds of amazing in a very short time: The block by Wade on the Bass dunk attempt? Nasty? Rondo recognizing in the span of less than two seconds, that Mickael Pietrus is in the corner and then slapping it to him while getting fouled (how big was THAT no-call??) was ridiculo...
I really detest Mike Breen, and refuse to listen to him & VanGundy (another Knick homer)...they both obviously hate the C's and have their tongues so far up LeBron & Wade's arses it's not even funny. At least VanGundy is inciteful, I just don't like him doing C's games.
Bass, by the way, needs to break DWades hand the next time he puts in between a two-handed dunk and the rim.

Catepillar- You have to watch this game on replay, one of the most insane games you'll ever see, I think at least partly cause it was on the road....
This team has not stopped amazing me since the All-star break, and now they're on the brink of shocking the world!
Celtics win the craziest F'ing playoff game I've ever seen, 1 win from returning to Finals
Do you know what just happened? Does anyone? I'll repeat what I said on Twitter earlier during the game. I've never seen a team so close in a basketball game but teeter so close to total collapse like the Celtics did all night. They had a million chances to fold, and it looked like they'd t...
The Captain! Right in Lebron's face & he got fouled! C's are playing top-flight defense , Ray & Paul are seemingly healthy, and Rondo & KG are dominating. I'm gonna sleep with a smile on my face if I can sleep...
Paul Pierce drops a dagger in Lebron's eye
Oh my... If the Celtics are able to close out this series, we're gonna be talking about this shot for a long time. Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7 years... but for a long time. (Video courtesy @jose3030)
Take that Miami!!! This team is destined for more greatness. This is fate. Game 6 is Game 7. Amazing win, total team effort......even Pietrus, who has been killing me, made more plays. The Garden is gonna be insane for game 6! GO C's!

I'm still shakin too......Holy crap that was an insane game. If that last play was what Spoelstra drew up, I'm glad we have Doc! If MVP voting was based on or included playoff perforance, Rondo would win it every year. KG was his usual iself, he's just amazing in every game. We needed every one of Ray's points tonite, but the best thing is he's shooting well again. On the negative side, the missed free throws are driving me crazy, and at one point I actually wanted Pietrus to foul out (although he did come through with the 2 offensive rebounds). And the captain needs to stop fouling out of every game. Doc needs to remind Bass what he does well. Game 5 is the one they can take down there, the C's have their number now, just need to keep the foot on the gas and stop blowing leads. Go C's!
Recap: The grittiest and ballsiest win yet
Three reasons the Celtics won this game: Grit and balls. Balls and grit. Grit and balls. What did I tell you all before the game via Twitter? Joey Crawford is the only ref with the balls to take on LeBron Wade and Dwyane Wade. And Joey delivered with the 6th whistle on James. Now excuse me whi...
I hope Doc's right about KG coming back. I just can't imagine the team without him anchoring the D and keeping everyone engaged. GO C's!!!
Doc's best explanation of "disengaged" Rondo
Without actually going back and counting, I'm going to guess that easily more than half of what has been discussed on this site this year has been Rajon Rondo and his penchant for, to use the popular term for it now, disengaging from the festivities on the court. Everyone gets pissed off about i...
I thought Keyon Dooling played great too.....his defensive energy is the closest thing we have to Avery, and it was contagious tonite. Quisy certainly earned some time in the next game, he was smooth on both ends. In the end though, Rondo once again showed everyone what a uniquely amazing game he has. Props to Ray for fighting through the injury and playing a solid game. Go C's!
Recap: Rondo saves Celtics from epic collapse
There are two guarantees with the Celtics. They'll play tough and gritty. And nothing ever comes easy. We witnessed both in tonight's 101-91 victory in Game 3. Rajon Rondo scored 8 of his 21 points in the 4th quarter as the Heat slowly whittled away a 24-point deficit. Knowing the Heat are goin...
Sue the NBA? What planet will that work on? The C's lost a close game and the refs didn't do them any favors. Stern is a prick and water is wet. Let's just get over it and move on to tonite.
Justin, keep recycling, it does matter. That's all I have to say other than go C's!
Got an issue with the refs? Do something about it
We’ve all had problems in our lives. We either accept them, complain about them, which accomplishes nothing, or we hit them head on and resolve them. That’s the decision Celtics fans, for that matter all NBA fans, face when it comes to the quality of officiating in what’s marketed as the world’...
Wally Z is now, and has always been, a frat-boy jackass. KG is hall of fame guaranteed, the only way Wally is getting in is with 25 bucks.
Your Morning Dump... Where the refs missed 5 or 6 calls somewhere
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. The general manager of the Boston Celtics was trying to understand how LeBron James could get to the free-throw line those 24...
If you had told me earlier the C's would would need 2 long jumpers late in the game from Rondo I would have worried. That was an amazing finish by an amazing player. This team has come a helluva long way since the all-star break, and have nothing to lose heading to Miami. I thought the whole team played hard tonite, especially Ray, who I thought did a great job staying with Turner. As beat up and tired as we are, just need to win one down in Miami.
Recap: Rajon Rondo takes over down the stretch, Celtics advance
It looked like a killer moment for the Celtics. Paul Pierce had committed his 6th foul with 4:16 left in a 3 point game. The tide appeared to be turning. This was truly a game changing moment. Except... It changed the game in the Celtics favor.... because Rajon Rondo went absolutely effing ...
I'm sure everyone remembers exactly where they were and who they watched it with. The look on Walton's face is absolutely priceless.
Go C's!!!
On this day in 1987: "Now there's a steal by Bird... "
I still get chills watching that play.
well done KWAPT! (as usual). Go C's!!!
"One Last Shot"
On Saturday night, the Boston Celtics will have one last shot at eliminating the Sixers. One last shot at moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals, and a chance to exact revenge on Miami. One last shot for the Big 3 to try and capture Banner 18. One last shot. I stumbled across this video whil...
Sucks for the C's but Avery will end up being the best thing that happened to the C's this year. The kid has incredible heart and is clearly missed in the line-up against Philly.
The fact that Blake Griffin made 2nd team makes me want to puke.
Avery Bradley has small tears in his shoulder
The news on Avery Bradley continues to get worse: Boston Celtics second-year shooting guard Avery Bradley is expected to soon undergo season-ending surgery to repair small tears that have compromised the structure of his ailing left shoulder, according to a league source. Bradley has endured a ...
I hope I never have to see that fat mfer again as long as I live, it's disgusting... and how the guy keeps getting pub is unreal. He's a cheeseburger away from death, and by the looks of the guy, he aint gonna see too many more birthdays.
Philly fans living up to their reputation
When I think of neanderthal sports fans, I think of Philadelphia. It's not just me, they were recently voted worst sports fans in America by GQ. Celtics fans are now getting up close with Philly's worst. Last night, a ginormous man attempt to distract Kevin Garnett by lifting his shirt. In G...
Agreed! Just ask Q Richardson if the Captain likes to talk it up.
Philly can cry all they want, but what it comes down to is they got their asses kicked in their own gym. Doc respects their shooting enough to leave a couple of starters in. More of the same Friday night. Go C's!
Enemy Chatter: Nobody put Pierce or Rondo on the ground
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Philadelphia. Really disappointed that nobody put Rondo or Pierce on the ground when they were out there throwing behind the back...
They seem to be gaining momentum again after that loss and the defense was superb at times. At least Avery has his legs under him and can still inspire with his D. When Philly beat Chicago, they danced on the scorer's table like they'd actually won the championship or something. Collins too got all dramatic. Then I heard him tonite telling his guys to keep their heads up, which they were unable to do. The 6ers are done, they just need to be finished off in a timely manner. The C's are focused again, and the 6ers can't do anything about Rondo or KG. I'm looking for another win Friday night.
(You knew it was one of those nights when Hollins actually caught a pass and laid it in, right?)
Recap: Celtics dominate, bring Philly back to reality
Can a sprained MCL heal in 48 hours? An uber-aggressive and healthy looking Paul Pierce dropped 24 points and 12 rebounds in Philadelphia as the Celtics dominated Game 3, 107-91. Kevin Garnett continued his dominance: 27 points, 13 rebounds in 30 minutes. Philly has no one who can guard this ma...
They're the 2 best of the modern era. To compare them record-wise is basically comparing the Spurs to the T-Wolves. McHale, in his prime, was as good as either of those guys, just my opinion.
Tim Duncan hates Kevin Garnett. Hates him.
Our friends at Project Spurs were kind enough to alert us to a new Tim Duncan interview with Sports Illustrated's Chris Ballard. Ballard's reliable sources claim Duncan hates Garnett: In fact, Duncan hates Kevin Garnett. Hates him the way liberals hate Sean Hannity. This information comes from v...
Not sure if they're looking ahead or just tired, but they need to stop waiting till the 4th quarter to play well. As long as they win a game in Philly, all is well. Would love to see them put 4 good quarters together sometime very soon. Avery is a freakin warrior!
Recap: Crappy effort, putrid execution dooms Celtics
Remember everything positive we said about the Celtics following the Game 1 victory? I guess it applies to Philadelphia now. The 76ers made the smart, clutch plays down the stretch to beat the Celtics 82-81 in Game 2. Spare me the bitching about the illegal screen whistle on Kevin Garnett with...
I would expect Bosh back at some point sooner than later. Both the C's & Heat better pay attention to the series they are in cause I don't think either game 1 W was very decisive. Go C's!
Things breaking C's way? Bosh out indefinitely
The Celtics played the Hawks, who didn't have Al Horford or Zaza Pachulia and then saw Josh Smith limited by a knee strain. They were set to face the winner of the Bulls-76'ers series, and the Bulls lost Derrick Rose to an ACL injury and Joakim Noah to an ankle injury. Now they face the 8th ...
Doug Collins knows basketball but isn't a great coach. He's pretty good at building/developing a team (Chicago & Detroit) but not neccessarily the guy who leads them to greatness (Chicago & Detroit). He's a rah-rah type coach that players get tired of after 2 or 3 years. Having said that, nobody could have done anything about KG this past Saturday, the 6ers played a good game and came close.
Enemy Chatter: Doug Collins responsible for Game 1 meltdown
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Philadelphia. And then the last string of plays to the game demonstrated just how lost he was. While Rajon Rondo was displaying hi...
I agree, Sasha is ready if needed.
Your Morning Dump... Doug Collins is willing to let KG beat him
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. In the Celtics’ 92-91 win in Game 1 on Saturday night, Garnett provided a lethal dose of jumpers. Garnett had 29 points on 12...
