I don't think he is ready but I don't blame the kid. My belief is that kids should be allowed to leave school to pursue a paycheck after any year of school so I'm not going to change my tune because the Canes need Reggie. There is no advantage to Reggie turning pro at this point but he may have something going on in his life requiring this. Good luck!
As for the U administration, is this surprising? You have a good, proven Elite 8 Coach that is begging you interview him and you dismiss him. It's borderline incompetence and we want Reggie to stick around for that. I'm a die-hard but our leadership at the TOP and our BOT's is questionable to say the least.
Reggie Johnson out of here! (But he can still come back)
University of Miami basketball center Reggie Johnson, a 6-10, 300-pound sophomore, has submitted his name for the NBA Draft. But he will not hire an agent, according to UM, and thus can still opt to return to the Hurricanes as long as he removes his name by May 8 and maintains his colle...
Way to respond Manny. I like it! Defend your house!
As for Golden, who can't be in love with this guy at this point. Talk about winning over a fan base, my goodness.
The Spring Game is going to be jam packed thanks to OUR new coach.
Even Bubba McD was juiced from Houston talking to Irvin about Golden. Saying he was fired up listening to his speech about welcoming the players back.
Lastly, the Canes rep'd big time at the Senior Bowl with plays all over the field and throwing up the U. Poor kids needed to be developed better. They will be now.
UM's strength program under new Golden rules
Strength and conditioning coach Andreu Swasey has seen a lot of change at the University of Miami over the last 11 years. The Hurricanes have gone from being a national championship-caliber team under Butch Davis and Larry Coker to last season's 7-6 mess under Randy Shannon. So what has Swasey...
Racism can be found everywhere. Be glad this person is so up front about his. The world is getting better about it albeit too slowly.
I hate the interceptions too but Jacory has green and orange in his blood so I have his back. Let's regroup and take it to Wanny and Pitt. I love the CANES!
Harris needs to put Twitter, racism behind him
Marcus Forston knows Jacory Harris about as well as anyone at the University of Miami. They've been friends forever -- since before Harris even became the starting quarterback on Miami Northwestern Senior High's back-to-back state championship teams in 2006 and 2007. Win or lose, Forston has lea...
I'm a die-hard Cane fan but this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Were the players tweeting during the game, practices, or team meetings?
Last I checked these kids are over 18 and he wants to control their social lives too. Maybe they shouldn't vote either cause they may choose a controversial candidate, maybe they shouldn't be allowed to have a camera phone because you never know...where does it stop? These kids are in college, give me a break.
Randy Shannon a.k.a. Kim Jong Il
Hocutt weighs in on power of Twitter
University of Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt admitted to reporters last month he was a little nervous about entering the social network known as Twitter. It didn't take him long to discover its impact. Tuesday night on WQAM's Hurricane Hotline, Hocutt shared the story of how his second ...
Pat,
I was at the game too and I heard similar comments from a few other Buckeye fans. Thank you for being classy. It was good to finally see some class cause we were surrounded by Jerky OSU fans most of the time. I wish you all well and wish we would have played better. I hope our fans treat you well when you visit and dont subject you to some of the crap we were subjected to.
GO CANES!
Extra points and observations: Ohio State
Now that the Canes have wrapped up a 36-24 loss to the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, here are few final post-game thoughts: BIGGEST DEVELOPMENTS > The Canes proved they aren't ready to compete for a national championship yet... All week long this game was presented as an opportunity fo...
We've been planning to go up for a year and it's finally here. We will be there to support the U all the way.
BTW, I hate the Storm Trooper Uni's and those funky numbers. Why can't we do throwbacks to the 80's uni's????
Canes trying to simulate noise at Horseshoe
The sun wasn't up yet, but it was still plenty loud in Coral Gables Wednesday morning. That's because six speakers were blaring crowd simulation noises as your 12th-ranked Miami Hurricanes began practicing at 6:20 a.m., four days before their showdown with the No. 2-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes at...

27AveCanes,
This doesn't answer your question but the ACC posted this moments ago: "UM @ FSU overnight rating posts a 5.61....higher than the last two Labor Day Night games...great rating for ACC Football on ESPN"
Canes ranked, Harris (x2) earn ACC honors
The University of Miami regained the nation's attention Monday night with a starry effort from Jacory Harris. Tuesday, both the Canes and their new leader began receiving some props for their come-from-behind win Tallahassee. UM climbed into The Associated Press Top 25 rankings at No. 20 and t...
Doesn't 15 come after 30 based on Manny Math? 60, 30, 15? Now we're back to 59. Who's next? Player 29 1/2? My brain hurts!
Top 60 Countdown: No. 59, OL Tyler Horn
As Eye On The U's countdown of the Top 60 players at UM continues, we take a look at No. 59: Offensive lineman Tyler Horn, who will compete for playing time this season as a backup. > What we heard about him on Signing Day '07: Horn was not very highly-touted coming out of Memphis University ...
Funny how JT left because he didn't want to be part of "his family's" rebuilding effort and wanted a chance at a championship. Now it's all about the Fins are my Family and he's glad to be back. The Fins fan in me is happy we have a player like JT available to help Wake and the pass rush but we could have really used him last year and he forced the hand by not participating in the same drills he will probably participate in now. I guess I will take what I can get because I think the Fins will ultimately need him but JT's bald head has lost a lot of shine for this Fins Fan.
Here is the plan for using Jason Taylor
Signing Jason Taylor was only the first step. Now the Dolphins must figure out exactly how to get the most bang for their buck. They must figure out how to make Taylor the valuable defensive weapon he was for many years but did not come close to resembling in a forgettable 2008 season with the R...
