"He also can't shoot for shit, but hey... you can't win em all."
Doc: Rondo is "the smartest player I've ever coached"
Helluva compliment outta Doc. What more can you say about that? Via C's Twitter
You're right about me having to change my pants... "phenomenal and explosive" is a good way to describe what just happened to me.
The tweet that will make you need a change of pants
Via The Celtics Doc says KG looked "phenomenal and explosive" in today's first practice. Giggidy. I know... I know... it's one practice. But.... Giggidy Giggidy!!
I wonder if that "personality" had a lisp and a name closely resembling that of a certain famous German...
btw, the conspiracy theorist in me doesn't want to let this one go. Even if I know it's not true, it's just too good of a story to give up hope. I'll refrain from going on a rant though... for now.
Your Morning Dump... Where Perk claims his job
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. "I really don't want to answer this question because I don't want to start nothing," he said. "But, really, my spot is...

Source: Celtics interested in Delonte West
How desperate are the Celtics for help on the wing? This should answer your question: The Celtics have been seeking a tough-minded defender to replace Tony Allen, now that he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. And according to a source, their interest could spread to former Celtic Delonte We...

Haven't been on in a while, but is this really what the laker trolls have been saying all series? Shit like "explode please" and "you would like that"? I'm down for a good back and forth but not if it sounds like a conversation I would have in between "What's your favorite justin beiber song?" and "Shampoo is better!" When someone over the age of 13 wants to come onto this board and say something intelligent, I'm all for it. I can't talk to 13 year olds anyway. Like legally and shit. I swear it's all a big misunderstanding but man, you should have been there. It was wild. But seriously though I hope I speak for everybody when I say we'll be waiting.
and no fatties either
Ray giveth and Ray taketh away
Forty-eight hours after Ray Allen set a Finals record with 8 three-pointers, he layed a giant goose egg in a pivotal Game 3 at the Garden. Ray shot 0-13 FG (2 points) as the Lakers regained home court advantage with a 91-84 victory over the Celtics. Derek Fisher was the money man for the La...

Haven't really heard a comment about this, but for all the crap we were giving the refs in the last series, I think we have to thank them for not taking away the Celtics' game, which was physicality. Lots of those no calls in the post could have gone either way, and I wouldn't be surprised if they went Orlando's way some game soon.
I'm not taking anything away from the Celtics' performance tonight. I just think that if we were going to blame the refs for not allowing them to play physical last series, we should be thanking them for the moment. Let's just hope it stays that way
Recap: Welcome to the playoffs, Orlando
The Celtics woke the Orlando Magic from their playoff slumber with a punch to the face. The Celtics played an impressive physical style of defense reminiscent of the 1980s. Rasheed Wallace (13 points, 2 rebounds) is my star of the game. He played fantastic defense against Dwight Howard (13 ...
This was better than my actual morning dump today. Getting all excited, I feel like the Celts are gonna make a statement today

Haha good, good. Admittedly I'm a late sleeper, so when I woke up at 10 they were in straight LeBron mode, not even a sign of the TA dunk in the game highlights. But that's good to hear
TA destroys Antawn Jamison
Somehow this didn't even make it onto SportsCenter this morning. Inexcusable

I say bring it back... I always liked it but I understand why you guys don't do it anymore
1 Day Only... The return of the KG Face!
The "Damn Delonte... you need some Speed Stick... IMMEDIATELY" C'mon... that face is too good NOT to put up. Thanks MrTrpleDouble10 for the pic
1 post about the celts does not make up for 10 posts about the refs. Your words, not mine.
Rajon Rondo is spectacular
I've never seen a point guard dominate a game like Rajon Rondo did this afternoon - 29 points, 18 rebounds, 13 assists, 2 steals in 47 minutes. To steal my buddy's words - those are Bird numbers. Tony Allen - 15 points (6-7 FG), 4 rebounds and 2 steals - was flat out incredible in the open c...
dont worry about it man, he needs to be put in his place. don't know if you saw the other day but an ex sonics fan said he's not coming back to reds army almost basically because of mikey

I think you missed my point (no pun intended). Even in a win, all you choose to focus on is the supposed bias from the referees against the celtics, with stats to "prove" it. fact is, the celts don't play a very whistle-friendly style of basketball. When you have that kind of reputation, you never ever get the benefit of the doubt. Especially against a superstar like Lebron, who like most other superstars, pretty much always get the benefit of the doubt (this is nothing new, I'm sure you know this).
In my reply I wasn't trying to outwit you with my statistical knowledge of basketball, I was trying to get you to see that your "proof" doesn't really matter. Games don't have to be called evenly.
And realize that in another world we could've been on the same side. I've never even felt an inclination to defend refs until you started this ridiculous crusade.

I think we're investing too much of ourselves into players' personalities. So what if he's a douche? So's Kobe (who's the bigger douche is a debate for another time). If I made hundreds of millions of dollars and was followed around every day by fans, I'd probably be a douche, as much as I hate to admit it. The reason we watch them is because they are absolutely RIDICULOUS at basketball, not because they're nice guys. NBA Cares, but only about gettin' paid.
How dare a commoner approach The King?
Here's a little something to highlight what a self-centered douche he's become... and to stoke the fires a little bit as we get to Game 1. What the hell did the ball boy do? LeBron knew he was there. Douche move. Thanks KWAPT for the video
That would bring a new meaning to the term "epic fail."
Enemy Chatter: Heat fans are delusional
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Miami. I found this poll in the Miami Herald. As of 7:30am, 53% of Heat fans thought their team was going to win the series in 7 ...
Those last 2 sentences made me laugh real hard. A sort of nervous, grimacing laugh, but a hard laugh nonetheless.
Bill Walker Misses KG, Paul and Ray
The New York Post ran a small article about Bill Walker, and the issues he saw with last season's pitiful Knicks squad. I'm sure he could've pointed out a handful of flaws, but having spent time in the Celtics locker room, the biggest missing piece was veteran leadership: Bill Walker, one of th...
Yeah I definitely agree the "Pierce is better" chant doesn't have to come into play. I would say we could just stick to a nice slow "Bran-di" chant. I think that might hit home. Or Darko, or something to that effect.
Also, this was brought up yesterday or the day before, but I think a sign with a list of all of the teams that dumped him (including Brandi on the list) was genius. Someone has to make that sign please.

I'm just gonna say I'm sorry to everyone who's read this. I just read the rest of the articles for the last couple days and saw he was all over them. Totally wouldn't have entertained this clown if I knew what I was getting myself into. I'll try to redeem myself in the future.

No Tommy Points for Quentin RIchardson
While the majority of the NBA world saw the ESPN broadcast of Game 1 between the Celtics and Heat, they missed out on Tommy Heinsohn's commentary regarding the little scrum between KG and Quentin Richardson. Here's a two part video of the classic commentary by Tommy and Mike Gorman. I think it...
Totally agree. He's been kind of a let down after the playoffs he had last year, but he showed the intensity last night and we know he has it in him to do the damage against the big boys
Doc plays coy... Rondo blows it for him.
Oh that Doc Rivers... he's a funny guy. He's trying to pull the "throw off the opponent by not saying who he'll start" routineIn the portion of practice open to the media, the Celtics closed out their practice session by utilizing Glen Davis with the gren-clad first unit. But Rivers noted that ...
I'm assuming you're not a Celtics fan since you seem to use that word in such a derogatory fashion. So I assumed you were a Miami fan since, you know, we're playing them, and that's what fans for other teams do for some odd reason. But since you're somehow neither, you come here under your own free will and try to trash on another team and their fans for no reason, pick on their grammar and then call them uninformed. And for what reason exactly? Frankly I'm flattered.

Hey Bento, maybe you should win a game before you start talking shit. And maybe you should stick to important subjects, like basketball. You know, that sport your team hasn't won a playoff series in since you "won" in 2006?.C'mon son. Get the fuck outta here with that bullshit.

I like the windmill better, but I'm just throwing that out there to hopefully stimulate some ideas
Or, how I learned to stop worrying and love Adrian Beltre
The offseason was not a fun one for me. Like many Red Sox fans, the run-prevention and bridge-building front office quotes had me worried. My love of Mike Lowell had me complaining through the entire saga of his eventual non-trade, and our interest in what seemed to me some unlikeable guys on...
