HAH! I could see Vanilla Ice being used as a counter-ad. "This candidate is ICE, ICE BABY! TOO COLD, TOO COLD!"
Please Hammer don't endorse 'em
A friend currently living in Jacksonville reports on the latest in C-list celebrity endorsements. Apparently, MC Hammer thinks City Council candidate Kimberly Daniels is "too legit to quit" (image from mailer): I'm hoping Vanilla Ice will back a competing candidate and they can battle: Upda...

A weekend of gaming, from Cal & D to Power Grid
Saturday, I got together with Cal, Martin and Steve so we could finish our now-epic one-shot of Cal & D. The plan was to start at 10, because Martin had a family commitment that we all decided (despite his disagreement, which was wrong) that wasn't nearly as important as crawling the dungeon and...
Tales of the Arabian Nights is super fun, but we found that the more we played it, the more the same stories kept coming up. So we instituted a new rule where the day would change to night every other turn.
It made for a more interesting game play, because sometimes if you chose to do bad things - then bad things would happen more often :)

What's funny is when you were twittering about playing D&D, my group was also playing D&D.
We realized weeks ago our group was evil when our rogue asked a girl, who we just dug up from being buried alive, to make him a sandwich.
Playing our characters as evil has certainly made the story more entertaining.
In which we play Cal & D.
Saturday morning, I drove over to my friend Cal's house for D&D. Our friend Steve was already there, and our friend Martin was on his way to meet us. While we waited for Martin to show up, we caught up on our lives, told stupid (and not-so-stupid) jokes, and got ready for the game. "Hey, I broug...
Wow, Wil. Your iTunes sounds like the garbage lady in Labyrinth.
geek vs. itunes
In the spirit of Cat vs. Monkey . . . Me: iTunes, play whatever you want on random. iTunes: Cool! Have some Isaac Hayes, followed by Yes! Me: Maybe we need to talk about this... iTunes: Hey, jerk, it was in YOUR library. Don't blame me for getting creative. Me: Let's never fight again. iTune...

My husband never noticed this move until I pointed it out to him. I considered making a drinking game from it, but I'm pretty sure you would black out by the end of the show.
the picard maneuver
I feel like I've told this story before, but I don't think I've ever written it down in my blog, so here's something that was cut from this week's TNG review of The Battle: The "Picard Maneuver," in this script refers to a pretty cool strategic move that Picard uses to defeat the Ferengi ship an...
