Well as you would say, a non-zero number of people have already said yes. But just in case you were counting, I'll add my voice as well. I'd probably buy the digital version.
anyone interested in a short fiction collection?
I have a question for everyone who reads my blog: if I put some short stories I'd written together into a little collection and sold it at Lulu, would you be interested? I ask this because I collected a few short stories into a limited edition chapbook for last year's PAX Prime, and it's been si...
"hurl polyhedrons" - I love it! ::snort:: Hope you don't mind if I steal that turn of phrase next time I'm sitting at the D&D table!
D&D Penny Arcade Podcast: Series Three
Somehow, I forgot to mention that the third series of D&D podcasts featuring Penny Arcade, Scott Kurtz, and Wil Wheaton (that's me!) has been available for a couple of weeks. Here are links to the episodes that are currently online: Series Three, Episode One It's Fallcrest, midwinter, and sno...
You and Ann are very wonderful together. I highly recommend you try hard every day not to forget it.
just another day
The Sun reached out from 93 million miles away, pushed against the curtains in my bedroom until it found a small gap, and poked though it. As it moved across the sky, it crept silently down the wall behind me, then deliberately down the headboard until it landed on my forehead. Once there, it to...
I remember that episode, too. I always thought the casting was a bit weird. I've seen blond kids turn into dark-headed adults. But it seems it usually doesn't go the other way unless there is a bottle of bleach involved.
Oh and Riker was ALWAYS one of my favorite characters. It was - and still is - the perpetual twinkle in his eyes. Jonathan Frakes always struck me as a man who didn't take himself - or anyone else - too seriously.
screw you, q. coffee is for closers.
I'm editing Memories of the Future, and ... well, this bit from Hide & Q made me laugh: Riker explains that, even though he's pretty much a golden god, he's still the same old lovable Riker they've known for ten episodes, and to show them how totally awesome he is, he's going to give some gifts ...
Your dog is BUSTED! Probably tried to act all innocent like "What? Trash can? Was there a trash can somewhere?" LOL
from the vault: my awesome dog
When you break the world down into dog people and cat people, I guess I'm mostly a dog person, even though I've loved every cat I've ever owned. Sometimes, though, my dog tests me, like in this entry from the vault... When I was at CES [a few weeks ago] for InDigital, I got a phone call from Ann...
I can understand being freaked out by all the followers. I would be too. But I've been reading your blog and your tweets for a while now and you seem like a really nice guy. So for that reason, I hope that this means you get all the work you could ever want doing all the things you love to do!!
Oh - and that you get to go to more Cons because Cons are awesome and restore hp.
i'm not going to lie to you: there's a lot of awesome packed into this post
Hi there, I'm Wil, and I'm the luckiest guy in the world. Why is that? Well, allow me to present the following items to support this outrageous claim: Quite some time ago, I engaged in correspondence with one of the guys who makes woot go. One thing lead to another, and I ended up designing a T-...
I follow Wil because he's fun and funny and we're totally into the same stuff. I find almost everything you write about interesting.
I especially love to follow you when you go to a Con, although it makes me really jealous that I'm not there, too.
I wonder - is it possible that all those 53,000 people are also geeks? Maybe they are in the closet and just need to know that it's okay to let their geek flag fly? Wouldn't that be nice?
what to expect if you follow me on twitter (or: how I'm going to disappoint you in 6 quick steps)
Yesterday, my friend Alan tweeted a link to this story of how Twitter was born. If you use Twitter at all, you should totally check it out because it's awesome. If you don't use Twitter, you should totally check it out, because a lot of what you may have heard about Twitter is probably filtered ...
Man I was already jonesing for a Con from all your talk about going AND your tweets while you were there. Now it's a full-on craving!
And I second the comment about coming further east. The west coast gets all the cool people!
did my time, took my chances, got my geek on
YouTube user ewingsquadron put together a really cool overview of our Rock Band party at Phoenix Comicon: And here I am doing Eye of the Tiger: And here's We Got The Beat, which was crazy fun and much more tiring on drums than I was expecting. It does have a drum solo, though, which ...
I sure with I WAS within an hour of the Con. I'm going through Con withdrawal and that's the truth. I haven't been to one since MAY.
So, have a blast for both of us Wil!
i'll be at the phoenix comicon this weekend
This weekend, I'm heading out to Phoenix for the 2009 Phoenix Comicon. I had a fantastic time at this show last year. It reminded me of all the things I love about cons, and was a great way to kick off the year. I wrote three posts about the trip, but if you don't have time to read them all, her...
I am totally addicted to that show and I would love to see you on there. I hear Seth Green is doing a cameo, too. Didn't you play ping pong with him recently? Maybe he could also put in a good word for you! :D
In which wil goes "O_o" but retains his grip on reality
I thought I'd completed this week's LA Daily column on Friday, but when I opened it up yesterday afternoon to give it one final look, I realized that it didn't work at all. It's fine for a blog post (and will likely show up here sooner or later) but it just doesn't work as a column. As you can i...

The thing people should remember, is that this isn't about whether or not you believe gay marriage is morally wrong. You are free to believe that if you want, teach it to your children, hand out flyers about it, whatever.
What this is about is whether YOUR belief should be forced on other people. Our country was founded on the separation of church and state and this issue threatens that when people are urged to vote for religious reasons.
If you think it's wrong, then don't do it yourself. But don't thrust your religious beliefs on the rest of us, thank you.
Californians: Vote NO on Prop 8
Proposition 8 and the people who support it disgust me. Want to know why? Replace every instance of "same-sex marriage" with "interracial marriage" and see how bigoted and discriminatory it is. Here, these guys have done it for you: I can't believe it's 2008, and this is still an issue....
