Blizzard games (WoW, SC2, Diablo 3) all distribute their patches via torrent swarms. Ubuntu as you found is a great example (and other linux distros). A lot of large open source software use torrents.
A fun one is OCRemix. They distribute their massive pool of video game remix music in torrents. SLAY Radio does as well, posting quarterly torrents containing all their new indie music.
