The 'Avatar' group?
I just finished re-reading 'Princess of Mars'. It was great, albeit rather dated by 21st century standards. Burroughs' John Carter was hardly as subtle as Jake, and yet the Green Martians bear some rather striking similarities to Navi, physically (if not mentally). As I said, this could be quite an interesting one.
Okay, it's not Avatar, but have you guys checked out the John Carter of Mars film next month from Disney? Go look... tons of Avatar tech in there -- it could be a sleeper and a fantastic flic Continue reading

Workin' hard and enjoying life! May the spirit of Neytiri grant you peace. :)
My writing took a rather interesting turn. I didn't get published in the old sense, but rather the series (or at least one of the books in it) was picked up by a cool, on-line eBook site called You can check out 'Legend of Talimar' here: (Oh.. and a 'Like' or two would be appreciated ;) Thanks for asking! Oh.. and I also got a job in the industry at :0
Kaltixi, my fellow clan members. Long time! :) Continue reading

Kaltixi, my friends! So guess what? My plasma TV died last month. Yea.. I know, it sucks, so I was *forced* to get a new 3D Sony Bravia! :P So, my 3D glasses finally arrived yesterday, and of course, you... Continue reading

So, you're saying that the limit of your attention as time approaches infinity is zero? :)
I just texted REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to Japan’s emergency relief effort. I would encourage all my fellow tsmukan and tsmuke to do the same, if you can. This is what Seeing is all about. Pray for the... Continue reading

Lorene, you need to understand a couple of things. First, Selling Avatar to Twentieth Century Fox was not a trivial thing. The longer a film is, the more difficult it is to convince the distributors to accept it. Mr. Cameron didn't have the freedom to make the film as long as he would like; he had a devil of a time convincing 20th to make it as long as it was. Second, there are a number of IMAX theaters that cannot run a feature longer than 150 minutes (2.5 hours). This is due to the fact that non-digital, film-based IMAX theaters only have a single projector and film-table, and that means the entire film must run without a projector switch. Since the 3D market was critical for A1, and IMAX was critical to 3D, there was no way he could have released the film in a version longer than 250 minutes. I do, however, agree that there are a lot of very important story elements that were left on the cutting-room floor, but such is the nature of the industry, unfortunately. I'm glad that we have BluRay, so we can see what we missed in IMAX.
Film is art, and as a result, everyone will perceive it differently. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' as regards opinions about films -- they affect each of us differently. I will, however, respond to your comment about organics in Tron. My point was, simply, that a movie about characters 'based in a computer', as you put it, and therefore inorganic by nature, was not compelling nor moving for me. I did not enjoy the film. One of the most compelling parts, for me, of Avatar was the life that is in every frame of the movie (which was, as an aside, created entirely inside a computer). I concluded that the dialog was undecipherable from the fact that I could not decipher it. (and thanks for the analogy, but no, I was wearing neither 'a welder's mask', nor 'ear protection'). Castigating those who disagree with you is inconsistent with the spirit of Neytiri, and I will not descend.
Best hair ever done anywhere, imho.

Don't just take my word for it. See what people are saying on the Tangled Facebook page: And here's the Yahoo User Reviews page for Tangled -- ALL A+: It is, I believe, the sleeper gem of 2010 (I can say that because Avatar came out in 2009 :) (Geez... has it been like, going on TWO YEARS now? Man.)
I am in touch with Avatar. Be afraid. Be very afraid. :P Continue reading

Oh... and it can't be a war because that would imply that the enemy has the ability to harm us, which of course they dont. :)

Oh and while I'm at it... Nothing to do with Avatar per-se, but to do with film technology... Has anyone seen the new Disney (well.. not exactly new any more, came out in November) animated feature, 'Tangled'. It's certainly not... Continue reading

Kaltixi, Omati! It would appear that an RDA sleeper-cell has somehow been reactivated and attempted some mischief. Perhaps they thought the Clan Banhammer was too dusty and needed some cleansing by bashing a few heads. Well, I'm happy to oblige!... Continue reading
