I went by there on my way to the AIRC meeting this afternoon. It didn't seem that loud to me. The content didn't really bother me either.
Actually, O'Grady argued that Pearce and Adams don't have standing to bring this lawsuit because they have not been harmed in any way by the actions of the screening panel. Further, she said that, in the event a person (not necessarily Pearce or Adams) believes an appointed IRC commissioner is unqualified, that person may bring a suit at that time.

Eloquent and it looked like he wasn't reading it.

Scott Turley makes excellent points in his comment.
As to the political process, however, apart from earned media, redistricting is THE most significant thing we have to keep an eye and report on. When elections become more competitive, the corporate media will pay more attention. It will be a while before that happens.

We cannot rely on the corporate media. Period. We can hope they report balanced stories, but we can't depend on it.

Thanks Craig... I definitely plan to be at the Dec 29 meeting. We need LOTS of support. Please, Arizona progressives, be there if at all possible. :)

It is a good lede... but Mr. Campbell's going to have to ratchet up his indignation a few notches to get anyone else in the Arizona "Capitol Press Corps" to take him seriously.

Also to add, Howie Fischer only SOMETIMES peeks behind the curtain. I take issue with your characterization as "usually." Howie can be a genuine thorn in the side of public officials when he wants to, but is often just as lazy as the rest. Also, it's important to note that Adams conveniently fails to mention Maricopa County Republican Michael Perry, who did make the final cut to be on the list submitted to Adams and the rest of the legislative leadership. Perry, in his application materials also cites his faith and lists a couple of church activities. I provided links on my blog, The Eagle-tarian.
