I met Brent Spiner last year at a con who had adopted a no handshake policy as well for the same reason. He did an 'elbow bump' instead, which was pretty amusing, but even if he hadn't I would have understood. I take public transportation every day, but that doesn't expose me to the number of people at a con. Sorry some people were uncool about it, but as you know you can't please everyone.
