Hi Annie, That is actually an Ali Edward's One Little Word album. I love the color but it says "One Little Word" on the front, and has a smaller spine so I'm not sure if I will use it this year or not.

Oh wow, it sounds like you've made some amazing finds. Sounds like you are going to have an awesome album this year.

Hi Michele, I knew the time had come to break away from the numbers when I made a spread sheet to see what I had planned on certain days, and what days were blank and needed to be filled in. Hoping this year goes a lot more smoothly. I still plan on working on a calendar.

Oh my gosh, that's such a nice comment. I think incorporating it into a planner sounds like an awesome idea!

Hi Jacki, It sounds like you and your family have wonderful holiday traditions. We usually put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and I was always holding that story over for a day in December, which seems kind of crazy since part of the tradition itself was doing it on Thanksgiving weekend. I was always playing a numbers game to come up with exactly 25 stories. I love the numbers but definitely need to break away from using them on a daily basis. I like that you moved off the 25 days and just document things as they come up.

Hi Paula, Even when I tried to tell myself just to keep things casual I'd always feel that pressure to have 25 stories to tell on 25 days. Just knowing I'm going to put things in as they come this year makes me feel so much less stressed this year. Eclectic might be just the word to describe my album this year.

Hi Rhonda! I always loved looking for little odds and ends on Ebay and Etsy. I haven't looked at all this year (my husband is probably happy about that). Have you had any good finds? The Carta Bella line is super cute. If OA had to go away, at least we get to keep the designer. I need to start thinking about a calendar page...

Hi Debra, I like the idea of using the numbers occasionally. You had good ideas like for the number of packages wrapped, etc. And definitely for important dates. I think you're smart for working on your book when inspiration hits you, even if it's in the summer.

I absolutely adored your 6x12 last year. When you broke out of the "traditional" DD it helped inspire me to make some changes this year. I knew I either wanted a different size, or a different format, and I'm pretty attached to the 6x8. I can't wait to see what you come up with for this year, I always love what you make!!

8 years ago I started with no page protectors, and then I think I swung too hard in the opposite direction and used all page protectors. Hoping to find a happy medium this year. Love the idea of typing on the back of cards. I'd like to go back to doing more things like that this year.

I'll definitely blog about it. I'm with you, I love the numbers too, and of course I'm addicted to fonts. I've never been strict about what happens on what day before... I'll split multiple events into different days or put things on the wrong day. But I still felt in the back of my mind that I had to come up with 25 different themes for 25 days, and that part was getting harder and harder for me. I will miss the numbers big time though. I figure it is worth a try, and I can always go back to a "daily" if it's not working for me. Have fun at the Nutcracker. Love that your mom makes the grandkids decorate the tree. Good for her!

My niece lived in Wenatchee for a long time. I love the area. Snoqualmie isn't the nicest place to ski, but I love it for sentimental reasons :)

It's definitely an experiment to break away from the daily... who knows I might go back to it at some point. I do love the look of the numbers on the page. It's just that last year I started to get really frustrated making the numbers work, especially towards the end of the month when we were traveling.

It's probably going to feel strange to break my old habits of numbered days, etc. But I found I was spending a lot of time trying to get stories to fit into the days rather than just documenting things as they come. I think more and more about selling a kit. Maybe someday...

Yes, I made it. We go over the pass every year at Christmas so I thought it was a fun way to document it. Although if I was being realistic there would probably me a lot more snow on the road :)

I know it's probably way too early to think about December Daily albums this year but I had a brainstorm the other night and I wanted to get it down in writing before I forgot. To be honest I wasn't... Continue reading

Hi Rhonda! Always so great to hear from you. It was hard to part with OA but I did save enough that I felt okay about it. I had every single collection. I agree it's nice that Steven Duncan is over at Carta Bella now. Hope you are having a wonderful summer too!

I do donate my stuff, or give it away to friends when I can. It doesn't feel right to just throw it away. I don't think scrapbooking is dead, but I do think it's changing and maybe even expanding. In the beginning I tried to do traditional scrapbooking but it never quite took. For me, scrapbooking has two parts. There's working with paper just for the love of it which is where I think art journals, traveler's notebooks, etc. come in. I make those just for me because I love stamping, and typography and just playing with paper. And then there is the side where I like to chronologically document things which for me is a pocket page type album. I want to document my kids lives but I don't want to make them cart out carloads of albums when they move out, so I've been working a lot on documenting more without using as much "album space". For instance fitting more pictures on one page or picking and choosing what I really want to document. I made both kids a 6x8 album which holds all of their elementary and middle school stuff which is perfect. I'm now going back through my own stuff and trying to pare down what to keep and what to preserve.

I'm constantly moving and changing my space too, but that's part of the fun.

Hi Larcy, I made the date stamps myself. I put together a tutorial of how I made this notebook along with a digital copy of the date stamps which you can find here: http://stitchintime.typepad.com/stitch_in_time/2013/10/travel-organizer-how-to.html
