I love the simplicity of pea and pesto soup, inspired by Nigella. http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/pea-and-pesto-soup-82 I simplify it further - one bag of peas heated with a litre of chicken stock, salt and pepper, add a jar pesto towards the end, blend and serve.

I just finished a chick lit book called The birds and the bees by Milly Johnson which I thoroughly enjoyed.
When travelling I always buy second hand books from charity shops or a book sale which we have twice a year on our little island. If I read them at home they get passed on to a friend and if I'm on holiday they get left behind for another traveller, to give me more room in my suitcase for purchases!!
