I bet the Mets fans are really suffering right now, having the Yankees and Phillies on the big stage while their overpaid and overrated team choked in the clutch yet again. I do wonder if we would have made the playoffs with Girardi managing this team instead of Fredi. I bet we could have made up those six games to get us to 93-69.

Yep, even though it tears at me to see the Yankees win, seeing Girardi hoist that trophy, look into the camera, and say "Thank God I was available to be the Yankees manager" will make it all worthwhile.

jrhana, Nolasco has a 2.73 ERA and a 5-2 record since being called up, Volstad was doing great against a powerful Dodger lineup until the umpire stepped in and kept him from throwing inside, and VandenHurk has done well in his return. Miller, Sanchez, and West might not be the worldbeaters that we thought that they would be, but this rotation has protected the bullpen far better than they did last year. 2007 5.29 innings average, 5.68 ERA (30th), 42-63 total record. 2009 5.71 innings average, 4.52 ERA (17th), 33-35 total record. Remove Koronka (0-2), Taylor (0-2), and Sanchez (1-4), and they have a decent 32-27 record overall. Yes, they are not the best in baseball, but they are improving, which is all we can ask for. I bet (not that I would be winning to dig too deal for the truth on this one) that if we remove the atrocious May, the starters overall have been good, not just Johnson.

I only read this blog ocassionally, but every time I do I see the same issue with the Gator fan. I agree with other posts that ignoring him would work, but then theres a consistent group of people who refuse to ignore him. So why not have someone (Shandel?) start policing yourselves. Threaten to blacklist (not respond to/respect) any poster who actually pays the kid attention. Start making a list of everyone who responds. They're just as idiotic for playing into his games...so they should be humiliated, too. At the beginning of each blog, someone should post the list of people who are deemed to dim witted to respond to. Maybe the threat of being shamed will get people to stop replying to him. As for the comment that they are only here becuase they won, and would be here until they lost, that sure doesn't explain why they were here BEFORE the Gators finally won a game against the Canes after over 20 years of futility. You see the progression of timestamps below: there, that last post that says mike is proof enough. he was trying to talk under the name rhino but he forgot to change it.
