Hi Julie, I usually get my pineapples at Costco too. I never thought about it but I usually bring them home and let them sit a couple days so yes I usually cut them up when they are ripe...but JUST ripe not over ripe if that helps. Let me know how it turns out! Good luck! :)

Thanks Linda!! The photo doesn't really do the blue velvet justice. It looks very royal blue and it's more of a vintagey turqoisey color. But yes I loved the white too! Yes this is my work Photo studio, I only have a sewing room too and couldn't fit a couch or even an extra chair in there. :) Can't wait to see the new pattern. :)

Hey Mo. I found it at this amazing old school upholstery fabric shop in San Francisco. Although they have new owners they have been in business for years and they have some bolts of vintage upholstery velvet. Ughh I spent way to much but I loved the owner she was so excited when I started talking vintage that she kept pulling out things to show me. Like a roll of silver velvet from the 60's. She said that the type of velvet would go on the market for $400-$500 per yard but it had a run/snag along the entire right side (most of it was still useable just not for a big project like a couch) she sold it to me for $30 a yard. Eeeks can't wait to use it on something. :)Thanks for the sweet words about my header photo!

Hi Amy, yep need those cushions. I should never have tried to recover under the gun. lol. I had the studio booked and never made it to get the new cushions but that should be easy enough. :)

Thanks Jennifer, I'll post some tips that worked for me as well as what I now realize I should have done different. It definitely needs new cushions and some stretching. The fabric was tight but after being used a bit I see it has loosened a bit.

Thanks Jennifer, I love it too. Could have done a bit better but it was the first time I have ever reupholstered anything. I should have started with something smaller. lol. I'll do a tutorial - ish on it.

Well, I had thoughts of all the uses for the pineapple at the end as well... that is until Steve (husband) Decided to take a big yummy bite only spit it right back out into the sink. Then he made me taste it. yuck! All the pineapple flavor has left the building!! Only the texture and a bit of vodka. So unfortunately I don't think it would be useable for anything. Hope that helps. Let me know when you do make it! http://sugarshop.typepad.com http://rooneysphotography.blogspot.com

Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by! I know, the only downside to this is needing 10 days to do it! Well really 11 days because you have to shop for the ingredients prior to making it. I wanted to make it for Christmas but didn't get it started on time. Hope to see you around here again. :) http://sugarshop.typepad.com http://rooneysphotography.blogspot.com
