Jackie, I love that clever hook! I agree, we need to remember that reporters are people, too. Give them something that appeals to their interests and you've won half the battle. - Connie

Thanks for weighing in. My intent with this post was not to take a side, but to use the Chick-fil-A situation as a reminder that businesses large and small need to be prepared for the unexpected, with tips on how to handle things if they want to change the tenor of the situation. I apologize if that was not clear. As several have mentioned here, Chick-fil-A did say they had a record sales day and yes, that's great for any business. Only time will tell what the long-term impact of all this will be. - Connie

Getting Your Business Into a Holiday Gift Guide: What You Need to Know
This time of year, one of the best ways to drum up awareness – and keep those registers ringing – is to get into a holiday gift guide. Y’know, those handy “cheat sheets” featured in magazines, newspapers, TV news programs and online media outlets, full of cool ideas for everyone from your wand...
Hi Tori - If you're talking about your own website specifically (not your press release that's posted on someone else's site), it's generally a good idea to link to other parts of your website if you can, in moderation. As far as whether it's equivalent to linking to an external site, search engines do not release the exact specs of their algorithms, so unfortunately I don't have a precise answer for that part of your question. Hope this helps! - Connie
6 Ways to Help Your Press Releases Get Found
How much do you know about press releases? Here’s a little history lesson for you: back in the day, press releases were sent to journalists who would (hopefully!) read them and then decide whether or not to tell the rest of the world. But today – thanks to the internet – reporters are no longer...
Hi Steve - Each service has its own submission process, so you'll need to sign up for one first. The larger newswire companies are PR Newswire, PRWeb and Business Wire. There are also more budget-friendly ones such as 24-7pressrelease.com, 1888PressRelease.com, i-newswire.com and prlog.org. I encourage you to check these services out to see which one is best for your needs and budget. Good luck! - Connie
