He's one of my favorite authors, but yeah--his politics are pretty vile. I'm not one of those fags who thinks everybody else is a fag--but he's written far too many characters who know they're gay but know it's wrong, so they start families instead. They say write what you know.

Paul, I just want to be clear that my callousness was directed at actors, not innocent audience members.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I can remember being told many times that violence on stage can't be too real or the audience will be distracted because they're worrying about the actors' safety. Pshhh. Personally, I've never seen it happen, but I have seen some half-assed violence in scripts where it was there for a purpose, and where its absence made the whole scene laughable.

kh99--much appreciation for the summary. And I think your cable analogy is apt. It speaks to the way I use streaming as well.
I've had Amazon Prime streaming since February and the selection is laughable compared to Netflix. Right now it has 2025 movies and 513 TV shows--and I'm fairly sure they count each season as separate show. In my opinion, Amazon free Prime streaming is a nice little extra if you use Prime shipping often enough, but not really any competitor to Netflix. Having said that, the last few months Amazon has been losing free Prime streaming shows every week. It's only recently they've started adding shows--maybe they're going to seriously start competing.
That explains it. The movie was The Social Network. Thanks, Lynne!
Working now.
"The current feature is unavailable." It was streaming The Bourne Identity fine a couple of hours ago.
I wasn't able to access it either about an hour or so ago but it's back up now, at least in NYC.
"You really post on a thread about "streaming problems" claiming that a page not found error for your DVD queue means Netflix doesn't care about DVD users? Are you for serious?" Ditto.
I've played around with this for awhile and still can't figure out how to access my queue so I can sort it. I have allowed access to my Netflix account.
I had problems for about a half an hour last night. At first I thought it was just my bandwidth slowing down, but a quick check showed everything was fine. Also had the same problem mentioned about not being able to add to or reorder a queue. Knew it wasn't just me when I called Netflix and heard "We're experiencing higher than average call volume" and instead of telling me how long to hold the recording said to call back.
I think you should call it Steve. I've always liked that name.
