We are busy getting ready to go to Quilt Market in Portland this week. We are so excited to get there and take in all the new products, fabric and patterns. We have 3 new patterns for our Road 15 collection that we will debut. Here is a sneak peek- plus we are offering kits! The first one is called Circle Drive: We are offering this quilt kit in red and black. Here is the digital version of the black: Next is my favorite pattern this time. It is named Sunnybrook Lane. That name came from someone's address they submited.... Continue reading

My mom is into blogs. Like really into them. I'm not sure what she did before computers, the internet and blogs. She did have a lot of magazines. But blogs are free. And they don't clutter up the house. There are 3 she visits nearly everyday: The Pioneer Woman, The Lettered Cottage, and her absolute favorite: My Sweet Savannah. Oh how she loves My Sweet Savannah. Whenever she tells me about something she found on the internet, there is a 90% chance it was from Savannah. So today is a very exciting day. A few weeks ago, my mom took... Continue reading

This is what our May Day looks like - Now I usually dont just like to take photos of the roof but that is the only place where the snow is sticking due to our warm ground from our 80 degree weather 2 days ago. I do love the moisture, but really it is May 1st!!! I remember as a child making cute little may day baskets and filling them with peanuts, popcorn, and mints (quite the combination) and delivering them to our neighbors. I think this year I would have to send my children out with mugs of chilli... Continue reading

for the label crew club came from my mom's recipe binder Now for the side view One of my mom's favorite activities is finding new recipes on the internet and printing them out. She had good intentions to keep all of her recipes organized in this 3 ring binder. I was looking for a recipe in her binder and I got to thinking - "This recipe binder needs a makeover!!!" (and yes she is thrilled beyond belief that I am showing you her binder). Which then led to this - our project for the May Label Crew Club. I think... Continue reading

We have one more idea for Mother's Day. Whatever you end up giving her, it would look adorable in this. We have kits for the baskets available in green (as shown), blue and pink: They are available now in our store. You will be able to purchase the Mother's Day labels separately: Have a great Wednesday! Continue reading

If you are like me, it is hard to know what to get your mom for Mother's Day. I ponder and ponder over what to get her and I usually end up getting her flowers because I have ran out of time thinking of the perfect gift and hurriedly go into the flower shop to buy flowers. To help you out we have come up with some fun gifts and there is still even time to make them! We are in love with Chalkboard Art and have used that idea for our newest labels - We created these 4 new... Continue reading

Just have a couple of pictures from this weekend to share (nothing quilt related). First of all, the story. My husband called me about 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and wanted to know if I wanted to see something exciting that day. My mind quickly raced to 1. we were going to the Colorado Rockies baseball game (which I had been bugging him about) and 2. we were going to the Denver Nuggets basketball game (which I had also been bugging him about). I knew that was too good to be true. Sometimes what I consider exciting and what he... Continue reading

I'm sure many of you just did this. We did ours last Saturday night- just a few short hours before the Easter Bunny came to visit. When I say a few short hours, I mean we started this at about 10:00 pm. That, of course, wasn't the plan. But at least we got it done. And my little boy loves this project, so he didn't mind staying up late. I remember when I was a little girl, I loved it too. There is just one difference. There were 3 kids in our family, and we shared one dozen eggs. Which... Continue reading

I can't believe it is almost April! It just seems like yesterday we were sending out the March Label Crew projects and here it is, time for another one! You may wish you had this one in time for your Easter table, but I'm sure you will find another special occasion this spring or summer. Our April Label Crew project features a round, scalloped place mat with coordinating napkins. The labels can be placed either on the napkins or place mats. We chose the napkins for the sample: The fabric kit (available next week) will include enough fabric to make... Continue reading

We have our winners! The three of you who won the Road 15 fabric are: 1. Jenni who wrote: My favorite, the turquiose, no the green, oh but the gray! Love it all! You have outdone yourselves again! Beautiful! 2. Katie who wrote: This is such a hard decision as each and every colorway are beautiful! I was torn between the aqua and the black and white colorways, but in the end I have to choose the black and white. They make such stunning quilts, especially if you add in one pop of color to the quilt you make. Any... Continue reading

Finally! Today we are showing you our new fabric for the first time. But before we do, here is what inspired the collection. If you regularly read our blog, you know that my mom and dad recently moved. What you might not know that they moved from the house my family has called home since my dad was little. More than 60 years ago. The whole thing has been bittersweet for me- happy my mom finally got a new house that she loves, but sad to leave "home". So we decided to dedicate this fabric line to that place we... Continue reading

This is one of my most favorite times of year. It isn't quite my favorite because it isn't summer yet. And the wind blows 3000 miles per hour. But every once in a while, we get a perfect day- 70 degrees and just a teeny, tiny breeze. It reminds me that summer is almost here. Which reminded my of this: I was moving some things around last week and came across this table runner that we had last summer. I love this table runner. And it got me thinking how cute it would be in Noteworthy. So we decided to... Continue reading

Hello to all you blog hoppers!!! We were so excited to be asked to design a block for Fat Quarter Shop's Mystery Block of the Month Program. This year, Fat Quarter Shop is using Avalon by Fig Tree Quilts for their annual Designer Mystery quilt. The fabric is light, a little whimsical and grounded with a bit of navy, which you’ll find peppered through the quilt. For a little treat, you will receive a MINI Charm Pack of Avalon with the first month’s block! A taste of the fabric before the club kicks into full gear. Each of the twelve... Continue reading

Today we are celebrating everything red. I was going through my pins on Pinterest and found some of my favorite red things. Strawberry Pie. My childhood favorite. Fair Ribbons. Blue is actually my favorite, but red is good too! The perfect red quilt. (Actually this one is mine!) Yummy pasta sauce. I actually made this a couple of days ago. Since then I have sworn to never, ever purchase another bottle of Prego or Ragu or any other jar of spaghetti sauce. A red polka-dot umbrella. I wouldn't even mind rain if I had this umbrella. Love, love, love these... Continue reading

We have one more paper collection to show you. Last week we showed you our Lucy's Crab Shack in paper, but this paper collection hasn't been done in fabric. It is named "Freedom", and it, of course, centered around the 4th of July. Which leads me to this question- do any of you quilters out there like American-themed fabric? I don't mean the 80's type Americana stuff (my mom was really into that many, many years ago). And I don't mean in your face, go USA kind of thing. I'm thinking a little more subtle, but definitely navy, red and... Continue reading

I'm finally back. My sister, of course, has been blogging for the past week. But I haven't posted anything since the demise of my Broncos. You may remember I said if they didn't win I would be too broken hearted to blog. Well, I was devasted. I know that is a strong word. But that's what I would call it. However, that isn't why I didn't blog. Something else bad happened. Not in the realm of my beloved team losing, but pretty bad. My computer died. And when I say died, I mean dead. Gone. No more. I could feel... Continue reading
