I just listened to this from my Android phone, downloaded through its interwebs, while sitting in a park in Scotland. That's some good international karma for you. Throws karma at Wil

It's too hard not to love you, Wil.

I'm a writer and musician myself and I tend to feel that there is no theft of digital content in the modern world. All digital content is effectively free and any money made is really a donation. My viewpoint stems from the excessively large number of people who are ok with 'stealing' digital content, but who very often pay for physical and digital versions of it at a later date. I'm not saying this is right, it's just the way it is. All the same, my personal feelings don't really align with that unless the author uses some kind of Creative Commons license (which you yourself do at times, and that is super cool). I don't want you to sour to your use of Creative Commons licenses. I realise this work wasn't released under such a license, but I've always admired the way you've released your work in general (no DRM and such). I was introduced to your work because of Sunken Treasure being given to me by a friend (as the license permits). Due to my enjoyment of it, I have now purchased several of your books. It's terrible that we all have to face these situations, but hopefully there are enough people who see that supporting artists is the only way to keep art going.

Ok, I sent it again. I encrypted the email this time in case that helps.

Did you get that ePub version of the first chapter of Sunken Treasure that I e-mailed to you? I never heard anything back about it.

Just bought the digital copy and saw that it was Creative Commons. That is AWESOME dude! Have you seen this video about the Creative Commons business model (using NIN as an example): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njuo1puB1lg It's very similar to the stuff you mention in this post.

Actually, I bought a sony PRS-505 earlier this year and have been buying most of my books in various digital formats since then. I'd really love to see the whole Wil Wheaton back catalogue available on such devices. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that most digital formats are based on the ePUB format. So, assuming your books are currently typeset in a strict format (without reflow), I guess it would mean some investment to convert them to these formats. It would definitely be awesome though.

I think Wil is something of a celebrity. At the very least, I'd say he is what I wish more celebrities were like: Honest to himself, grounded, good to his fans and just a generally great dude.

You know, this may be a little sad of me to admit, but every time I listen to Radio Burrito, a small part of me sits in hope that Wil will play one of my band's songs. Anyone else having this same butt clenching, edge of the seat problem? Actually, that makes it sound like more or a toiletry issue.

I'd love to see eBook versions of your stuff without DRM on them so I could read it on my Sony Reader. I totally agree about the DRM thing though. I distribute my music on iTunes but encourage people to get it from sites that don't DRM. I even encourage people to just get it for free from Jamendo and such and just buy the iTunes version if they feel like supporting me. That way they can see if they like it first and, if they do, they can give me money to support future work.
