Yay for another Pibble rescued into a loving home! The breed is an addiction, but of the best kind. :-)
Just so you know, with a nose that color, she may require sunblock if she's outside for an extended period of time and Burt's Bees makes an all natural one which is safe for dogs.

We were introduced last week at the Pasadena Humane Society, when Anne and I were there for a tour of the new facility WWdN readers helped raise the funds to build. We were standing in the lobby, talking about how much we love Seamus, when a worker walked in with this puppy. She had the exact ...
There are no Fire Ants in Oregon. Trust me.
Summer memories never fade away
It’s been so hot the last couple of days, I haven’t gone outside for more than a few minutes until the sun’s gone down, and even then walking down the middle of the street still feels like a furnace. Trading the blazing heat of a parking lot for the cool, dry air conditioning of a store is bliss...
As a native Texan who attended PennState, I think it's a bit mean to laugh at Texans when winter weather strikes. Depending on what part of the state you're living in (and Texas is *huge*), it may not be common for your local county to keep salt on hand in the event of a winter storm.
While I find it a bit different that homes in PA don't come with central A/C, I don't laugh at Pennsylvanians for being unable to tolerate the higher temperatures.
Laughing at people because they're used to the weather in which the grew up is a bit rude.
Hotter than July
I've spent most of today working on my setlist for w00tstock on Thursday, and reviewing all of my notes from Falling Skies, so I am prepared to moderate that panel on Friday. Normally, I take extended breaks on a workday and go for a walk in my neighborhood, sit with an iced tea on the patio and...
@Wil, I don't know if you already knew about this (you probably did), but here's David Hewlett attempting* to play Pokemon, and giving you a shout out about 2:12 into the video, haha!

*I know he's probably faking for the sake of humor, but it doesn't make it any less funny to me, since I've never understood the rules (I'm really lame like that).
Tabletop's Castle Panic Gag Reel
This whole thing makes me laugh a whole lot. Thanks for watching! Hope you get to play some games with your friends this weekend, because that's what I'm doing on Saturday. Yaay!
I have two Pibbles (glad I'm not the only one who uses that term, haha) who do the exact the same thing. I have a queen sized bed for my two dogs and me. I wake up in the middle of the night, and I'm literally sleeping on my side on about 6 inches of mattress!
I wish I could use my cats to scare them away (my dogs have a healthy respect for their feline sisters), but the cats aren't allowed in my bedroom at night, as they mess with the blinds.
The Eternal Struggle
So this happened last night. I told the tale in pictures and captions on Twitter, and I'm putting it here for the ages. For science. You monster. Hey, Seamus, you're in my spot. Me: Seamus, move! Seamus: But I'm watching Colbert Report! Me: Seamus won't move. Riley: Well, duh. He's wa...
That's when I started tearing up!
After twenty years, I finally got to say this.
A lot of incredible and wonderful things happened at the Calgary Expo this weekend, and when I'm not as exhausted I'll write about all of them. Until then, though, here is one of them that I really hope you'll spend 5 minutes watching: If you can't see the video, you can watch it right here a...

I want to know how certain people draw what they want so precisely. Seriously, I must have the clumsiest fingers ever, because I cannot get that detailed.
When I get stuck in Draw Something...
One of my mottos for gaming is, "never lose the joy of playing in pursuit of winning." So when I can't seem to figure out an answer in Draw Something, for example, I amuse myself.. The answer was Watergun. It took me awhile, but I eventually got there. HA! HA! FART GUN! IT IS A GUN THAT ...
I know it's already been said by almost everyone else here, but that's seems like one awesome Mother's Day gift there, now you just need to figure out how to top it next year, lol.
Also, it sounds like y'all are getting some pretty perfect weather there. Here in the Houston area the weather’s been kind of nasty, particularly Sunday's weather. The sky was so dark and threatening when I left work that afternoon I could have sworn a tornado was going appear out of no where. I literally had to fight with my car to keep it from being blown off the road. Not fun at all, lol.
Anyway, I hope the weather stays lovely there so you can keep on enjoying the payoff from all your hard work.
seeking sanctuary
Spring is totally here in Pasadena: it's misty or foggy in the mornings, and cool enough to wear a shell when I jog around the neighborhood. Then it burns off around noon and we enjoy cool breezes and temperatures in the mid 70s until the sun goes down. It's perfect planting, barbequing, and sit...
