You'll probably appreciate this graph I saw on BoingBoing just now: http://www.boingboing.net/2009/01/21/graph-of-the-way-a-c.html

Okay, I know it's not related really to this post, but I didn't want to clog up your email and thought you might enjoy reading "Seth McFarlane's Self-Written Wedding Vows" over at my friend J'Mel's blog. http://jmelstuff.blogspot.com/2009/01/excerpts-from-family-guy-creator-seth.html And, speaking of which, is your Family Guy episode happening this season or next? And I love the way I specified that it was my friend's blog, as if I was your friend and therefore it would give the recommendation some clout if I made sure to tell you it was a blog by my friend. Ugh. Sorry. I've gone on too long. Far too long. I'll just go back to lurking now, thank you...

Sadly enough, as I was finishing up the donation form, the Doctor Who theme started blaring over my speakers, bubbling up out of the random shuffle of my 17,000 songs. Freakin' synchronicity. I look forward to the blog. I trust it'll be as entertaining as your Tachyon TV work. Good luck and have a wonderful journey!

Wow. Makes me want to go put on the Prisoner jacket I had a girlfriend's mother create for me while I was directing a production of Camelot many many moons ago. I'd decided to set this version inside the hollow earth, and riddled it with gratuitous Kennedy imagery and weird sets and I had all the knights do McGoohan's little "Be seeing you" salute when they greeted each other. We ended with a video of King Arthur walking up the Grassy Knoll to his doom. Ah, those were the days...

Speaking of t-shirts, I just received one I ordered recently that features a sketch of Goldsmith's Star Trek theme: http://www.zazzle.com/star_trek_sketch_light_shirt-235244353250275673 There are similar ones with Star Wars and Raiders and ET, plus other film composer-themed shirts and Lost themed shirts. I love the music sketch ones because they're nerdy yet subtle...

Well, rock on with your, as they say, bad self. Now, if I recall correctly, you worked with Mr. McF sometime back for an episode of Family Guy. Did I miss it, or has that event not aired yet? It's hard to remember how long ago it was that you recorded that. Or perhaps I just dreamed that entry in your blog...?

It may be too late at this point, but another idea came to me. As a way to work into the whole Latino roles in the industry thing, ask if he ever could have dreamed, while watching Bonanza, that one day he would be up for a role that was also played by Lorne Greene -- the father figure, the big wasp overlord of the ranch.

There's a pretty heavy religious subtext to the show. You could ask about his own religious beliefs versus the seemingly lip-service-only beliefs of Adama and his thoughts on the mix of religion and sci-fi in general -- or lack thereof. That can then lead into the whole religion/politics question and how that plays out on the show and any parallels/commentaries on our current administration. It might bring out an interesting extra dimension and depth to the discussion. Then again, this show you're hoping to host may not want something that "deep."
