At first glance, Bomb It 5 may not look like much, maybe a run-of-the-mill Bomberman clone. However, on further look and quite a few plays, one will find a enjoyable and explosive romp. Bomb It 5 centers around your robotic avatar hunting down and blowing up 3 different enemies in a colorful maze. The characters drop bombs on the ground for their unwitting opponents to walk over and die in an explosive death. To aid in this battle, characters can collect power ups from destroyed scenery, ranging from the normal extra bomb drops and bomb blast upgrades to the more... Continue reading

This universe (2) is full of wondrous and tremendously different things. One thing that the average person has difficulty imaging is the vast difference in size between various items in the universe, from the smallest atom to the largest of galaxies. This disparity of scale is captured brilliantly in the “game” The Scale of the Universe. The controls of "The Scale of the Universe 2" are simple: you push a bar left and right, with left taking you to smaller and smaller scales while moving right gives you a bird’s eye view of increasingly larger objects. It even goes into... Continue reading

Simulation games are a great way to experience life events you would normally have no access to enjoying. This is true of flight simulators as well as business simulators. Simulation games vary in difficulty depending on their audience. Some business simulators are exactingly realistic while others are designed more for lighthearted fun. The online simulation "Theme Hotel" is one of the latter type of simulations. "Theme Hotel" starts by letting you play the game with or without sound. This option is much appreciated for gamers (like me) who listen to music on headphones while they play. Enter the name of... Continue reading

Rockstar Dreamer: For Those Who Love The Stage If you have always dreamed of being on stage with your own band, Rockstar Dreamer is the game for you. Much like the popular games that have been released for console systems, this is a game that allows you to play along with the music, being a part of the band. You have to push the keys in the right sequence. When you do, wild cheering will follow you to the next level. When you make a mistake, though, your dreams will crumble and you will be forced to leave the stage.... Continue reading

Demonrift TD takes its inspiration from the classic Tower Defense genre, in which players strategically purchase towers to place along a winding road. The goal is to keep monsters and other enemies from reaching the end of the road. The money used to purchase these towers is acquired by killing monsters. Typical strategies consist of placing towers near choke points, around "hairpin" turns, or in other locations where they can deal the most damage while enemies pass. Enemies come in waves; after the final wave, a particular map is finished, and the player progresses to the next map. While Demonrift... Continue reading

The game Empire by GoodGame is a fun and free flash based feudal style simulation. It is easy to learn with a helpful tutorial as you begin to play. Once you arrive at the website silvergames.com you first select your language. I chose World 1 for English, then made up a username, and entered a valid email address and created a password. As the game starts, bright red arrows and clearly written text guild you through the first several stages. You defeat a castle and are rewarded with your own land and minimal castle on which to build. At first... Continue reading

For anyone that's ever wondered if they have what it takes to run an ice cream shop, there's a new Flash game that's right up your alley. Papa's Freezeria from FlipLineStudios places you in the shoes of either Alberto or Penny, working to create, blend and top customers' sundaes just right. While there's not much story to it, the gameplay is surprisingly more fun than actually working a real minimum wage job. The gameplay in Papa's Freezeria is fairly straightforward. Each day at the shop, multiple customers come in and order a sundae with a specific set of ingredients. Once... Continue reading

Stealing the Diamond - A review! Sneak in? Or bust in? I chose to sneak in, revealing even more options to choose from. I chose the anti-gravity cap, and failed by flying out into space. The game reassures me that, "You're lucky! I've always wanted to go to space!" I try the pick, granting me access to the inside of the museum. Then there are more options on how I should finish out my ingenious heist. Every path leads to new and/or exciting failures and victories. There are 3 ways to finish (that I know of), and the first time... Continue reading

SpeedRunner: Sprinting Toward Bombs There are many games that are based around the use of speed, but few of those games involve individuals and not machines. There have been many games made where you have to drive a car, fly a plane, or control a robot that moves incredibly quickly. Still other games have been made involving animals. Not that many games have been made that involve human superheroes, however, and SpeedRunner steps in nicely to fill the void. In SpeedRunner, you will need to be as fast as you possibly can in order to win, whether that means outrunning... Continue reading

If you've never heard of Nyan Cat, don't worry you're not alone. This obscure mini game from solgryn.org is a confusing yet comedic at the same time. The point of Nyan Cat seems simple, which is to get past the flying dogs getting in your way. The main character of the game is supposedly (and we don't know this for sure) the Nyan Cat. Nyan, as far as we're concerned is either the name of the cat itself or a rare breed whose body grows into a large toast shaped tumor. The design of the game Nyan Cat is psychedelic... "Flight" is a Flash game chronicling the story of a series of paper airplanes that travel around the world. The paper planes unexpectedly fall next to people from England to China, bringing hope and cheer to depressed and lonely people. While the story is cute and simple, though, the real reason to like Flight is its gameplay. Players control the paper airplanes as they make it around the world. Their goal is to make it as far as possible in as few days as they can. Play starts when the player throws the plane into the air. Then it glides... Continue reading

No matter how many high-tech, complex shooters and RPGs video game developers choose to throw at us, the classics can never be beaten. Sometimes, some of the best new video games can arise when the classics are simply improved upon or renewed. These timeless games' simplicity is appealing to gamers of all ages and backgrounds, and they can be made even more appealing with modern graphics and accessory features. The game "Data Worm" is essentially an updated version of the traditional game "Snake". The only difference is that, instead of a snake that becomes consistently lengthier with each morsel that... GunBlood - Wolf Games introduces this online and addictive Western gun-slinging game with moderate violence and images. The idea is to shoot the marksmen opponents down as fast as you can by putting your mouse over the gun barrel and waiting for the countdown. The action is intense and is one-on-one confrontations. The overall play of the game GunBlood is easy and gets harder as you go with less than desirable graphics but good enough to keep your interest level there. I think if this game was eventually updated down the road, a story line could be created and would... Continue reading
