The officials working future Miami games should at least peak at the film from last night as means to call fouls on the anointed Heat. That fact about LBJ not fouling out, combined with him being on the All-Defensive team, as a FORWARD is disturbing. The two don't seem to jive.
Rondo looked awesome last night. Great to see Quisy get some valuable run. Thank god MP got those boards/foul. That cam could so easily have gone the other way it's scary.
Recap: The grittiest and ballsiest win yet
Three reasons the Celtics won this game: Grit and balls. Balls and grit. Grit and balls. What did I tell you all before the game via Twitter? Joey Crawford is the only ref with the balls to take on LeBron Wade and Dwyane Wade. And Joey delivered with the 6th whistle on James. Now excuse me whi...
I don't have a problem with this, because there is nothing new. It's lame as hell for the refs to let it go on, but doesn't change my opinion of anyone. KG gets suspended for any retaliation, smart. LBJ can't come up with anything to do/say, won't even look KG in the eye. Lame. What are they going to do, knife fight after the game?
Nothing new here.
Video: LeBron laughing in KG's face, plus KG's response
There are certain things you just don't do. And laughing in KG's face is one of them. Maybe LeBron feels like he can get away with it. The Celtics obviously need KG, so he can't do anything there that could get him tossed or suspended. The referees were obviously quick with the tech...
Totally agree that Rondo would be lights out in a lineup with speed, look at what he, AB and Wilcox started to put together.
Steamer would be playing if he was healthy. His feet have been falling off for what seems like two months now and my guess is has just hit a wall with them. He has had plantar fasciitis in one foot and I think a fracture or something in the other. That's why they had to even sign Hollins, especially after Wilcox's condition.
Steamer is playing for his NBA livelihood, he would be out there if he could be, Doc just can't put him on the floor if he can't move.
Enemy Chatter: Rajon Rondo is a weird dude
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Philadelphia. The Sixers played a lot better in this one, and we'll talk about some of the good Sixer performances, but really, Ph...
I can almost tolerate the Rondo haters. I don't agree, but the debate has merit.
I refuse to accept people here sighting ESPN/Disney as a credible source. Have some self respect!

Dude earned serious cred for his ability and toughness. Lot of pressure for a big year in '13 AB! Get healthy, and thanks for a stellar end of season run.
Avery Bradley has small tears in his shoulder
The news on Avery Bradley continues to get worse: Boston Celtics second-year shooting guard Avery Bradley is expected to soon undergo season-ending surgery to repair small tears that have compromised the structure of his ailing left shoulder, according to a league source. Bradley has endured a ...
When they win, it's usually been because 2 guys have 18-20 points, not any one person. On the flip side, their loses can't be pinned on one guy either.
Rondo had a horrendous game, awful. He knows we can't afford him to have another one.. he'll be good on Saturday.

Don't isolate anyone on this one. Rondo lovers/haters doesn't matter. Bass missed half a dozen shots within 5 feet of the rim. It hurts to see Ray offer so little, I don't even trust him to dribble more than a few times, he missed wide open mid-range J's. KG couldn't get near the post and whiffed each time Williams drove the lane. PP had a classic night where he couldn't shoot and needed to get to the rim and cause some fouls and didn't. What was it, 17 turn overs by the 3rd quarter? MP isn't even close with his shot.
I'm not defending Rondo, I just want to see ALL of them take equal heat for that embarrassment.
My gut tells me they are the underdog for each game left this season, especially without having a functioning 2 guard putting a ton of extra pressure on both sides of the floor. They are still the Ceez, have a few tricks up their sleeves and can pull this out. Leave the stink of that game in Philly and come out swinging, feed the post all game on Friday... 'no layup' type of defense.
Your Morning Dump... Where Philly kept KG out of the paint
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. All 20 of Garnett's field-goal attempts in Game 6 were from 10 feet or beyond, with an average distance of 17 feet, according...
Can't decide how I feel about it, which I guess means skeptical. Fri night, in Philly, Sixers have to think this is do or die time, they could come out strong.. and like Ray is quoted there that could be enough for the C's to lose their balance.
Your Morning Dump... Where Game 4 has letdown written all over it
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “It’s important how we start games,” said Ray Allen. “If you look at Game 1 in Atlanta and you look at both Game 1 and 2 in thi...
Exactly. And the game wasn't 'won', we keep hearing these nat'l announcers bring up the Memphis game so a 2 for 1 is a smart play.
Yeah, fine they showboat. But spare me, it's the entertainment business and the league has already sterilized most any passion of the game. So a suspension would just be foolish.
Enemy Chatter: Nobody put Pierce or Rondo on the ground
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Philadelphia. Really disappointed that nobody put Rondo or Pierce on the ground when they were out there throwing behind the back...
How the hell couldn't 'Sota turn that franchise around with him on the floor for 10+ years? I'm sure he's more sage now, playing as a team, leading defense but damn seeing him on our team and seeing how he portrays himself, I can see why KG bottles up when people bring up the Wolves.
KG is just the man. If he played even 10 of those 17 years in Boston, a franchise big enough for him, they would have challenged Shaq/Kobe at least once, made AI's Sixers all but irrelevant.. ok, enough.
Friday night in Philly, it would be so sweet to send them home bitching and moaning.

like a fat kid loves cake KG.
KG quote machine: "For y’all who know how to bake"
Via WEEI: “I always like to use baking a cake as an example,” said Garnett. “Nothing’s going to come out of the first two minutes. You have to sit there and wait on it, for y’all who know how to bake. Some of y’all don’t know how to bake, but don’t worry about it. Ask your mothers and fathers o...
To start, I love Bass. The way he plays, the strength he brings and his humble attitude are great for this team. And like you said, when his jumper his falling, combined with his youth and ability to eat minutes he's extremely valuable. My concern is that in a 7 game series team can game plan for him pretty easily. Yet with our starters, that should be fine because other teams shouldn't be keying on him.
It's only Game 3, and 42% isn't atrocious (sorry Peaches). And who knows, if that foul/jump ball goes the other way in Game 1, and we go to OT, we may be praising his hustle and diving for loose balls....
Bass floundering under spotlight of playoffs
Brandon Bass should be sending thank you cards to Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce for stealing the spotlight after the first two games of their playoff series, and in turn taking the heat off of himself. The reality is that since the playoffs began (and even late in the regular season) Bass has se...
Hang in Ray. If he can put it together just to launch some 3's, the C's and he will benefit. I agree with KWAPT, I mentally rule Ray out from playing but will always root for the guy.
Should we be excited that Ray Allen is excited?
Not sure what this means. One day we hear that Ray's ankle is feeling good, the next day we hear it's locked up. I've almost resigned myself to the fact that Ray won't play in the playoffs.
I'm with Cam. I don't see Rondo hoisting a bunch of shots, but if Smith is out Rondo should have a field driving the lane and dishing out to PP, KG, and MP for jumpers.
Rondo thanked his teammates after the Game 2 win
"I was really happy going onto the bus (after Game 2), Rondo was standing outside the bus door waiting for every teammate to shake his hand and say thank you." "... it was really cool to see him do that... you can tell he was really emotional about it. It was really nice. Adversity sometimes...
Literally running out of love statements for KG. And Rondo sending the love is awesome.
Keep their heads on D and the Garden will bring the roof down on Friday.

Dude is hilariously honest. And he's clearly not a vegan, but pork is delish. Pork chops taste good, bacon tastes good. Throw the swine some love Peaches!
Mickael Pietrus checks in with the the most awesomely confusing quote ever
Mickael Pietrus will start the game tonight as Rajon Rondo serves his suspension. So, what will MP try to do to pick up Rajon's slack? "It’s depending on how the game goes," Pietrus said. "I don’t project myself, say I have to bring more points for the team. I just have to be Mickael Pietrus...
wiley vet? or dirty?
Ivan Johnson calls KG a dirty player
The Hawks should know better than to give anyone on the Celtics, especially Kevin Garnett, any shred of motivation. Every answer the Hawks give should be in deference to a great opponent. Something like "We played a great game against a great team. We had a lot of things working well, we exe...
The rule book is confusing and contradictory as hell. It's vague and poorly defined. A lot is left to subjectivity and interpretation by the officials. The officials aren't savvy enough interpret on the fly.
They need to re-write the rules to be minimal and clear, and quality check the officials.. but both would be admission that the Association isn't perfect and Stern would never let that happen, right? (see lockout).
This in no way absolves Rondo. It just puts a microscope on how poor the officiating and rules are.
Does ref Marc Davis have a grudge against Boston?
The official who tossed Rajon Rondo from last night's game is no stranger to controversy, publicity or the Celtics. Many NBA analysts claim Marc Davis is one of those officials who love and seek out the spotlight. During an appearance this morning on WEEI, disgraced former referee Tim Donaghy s...

It sucks of course because he's likely cost his team an All-Star PG for an important game 2 to potentially neutralize home court. No matter the consequences, it is inexcusable and he shouldn't let down his teammates. And for those of us trying to defend him for the last couple of years, this sucks to because it's such a dumb and selfish move. Yes, he could talk about it better, "I need to learn from this mistake.." rather than saying he tripped.
He played an excellent game where the guys weren't moving around much or hitting shots, and it's stupid to have this hurt him and the team tmrow night.
Let's hope the guys can rally around that before bringing it back to the Garden.

Man it would be so nice to have Ray sniping off the bench, why now Shuttlesworth?
I've always liked Flip, glad to have him around. He's had a tough go the last few gigs, so I'd bet he's getting just as much out of being with the team as the team will get from him.
Pierce's toe is fine, Ray's status still uncertain
The Celtics held their media session today BEFORE their workout, which is a little twist on things. But they did say that Ray Allen will not practice today. But everyone else is in. Twitter / @scott_souza: #Celtics coach Doc Rivers: ... via kwout If Ray can't go, that leaves Pietrus...
