I have been to the future! It was an exquisite event, for all involved (that's what I heard from another time traveler anyway; I got there early and had one too many before you started, and yadda, yadda, yadda). I would wish you luck, but you don't need it. By the by, just feel free to ignore that one drunk guy who keeps fiddling with his zipper while shouting "I got your d20 right here!").

This is so telling! Let's assume you are perfectly right on your assessments. Then this provided proof of what a lot of people say, thinking about this as actor/actress and context. Of Brando you say "his movies were rarely up to his abilities" but, quite often, Brando wasn't up to his abilities. He phone it in too many times. Viggo has the record of working with pretty interesting directors, working slowly to pick and get the right parts, and then being consistently good at what he does. He might not be as great as Brando, but dammit if he doesn't give us better work more often. Bogart? I don't know. Kind of one note to his craft but his films were among the best that will ever be made. Dude, this is scientific!
I've been voting since 1990 too and this was the first time I ever remember feeling a sense of purpose in voting *for* rather than against something. Plus, I got to bring my 3 year old along! It's nice his first electoral experience could feel so...pure, you know?
