No one suggested Wil try some of our awesome food carts?

For shame.
LEVERAGE: day five
"It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Wil Wheaton," the assistant director said. I threw my hands up in the air and yelled into the sky: "NOOOOOOO!!!" I sadly rode back in the van to base camp, packed up my stuff, said my goodbyes, and took my time walking through downtown back to my...
Or here.

Which only comes to mind because I think I'm going there now, for the first time.
LEVERAGE: day four
Woke up early yesterday and wrote for about an hour. Met Rogers and walked to a fantastic place for breakfast (forget the name of the place, but President Clinton ate there once and they have something named after him on the menu.) Had a delicious tofu scramble thing, and the most sensational Fr...
Sorry, but nothing beats my SHATNERQUAKE 2: ELECTRIC BOOGSULU.

FWIW, Shatnerquake was written by a local.
LEVERAGE: day three
I wasn't on the call sheet today, but I went to the set anyway, because I felt like I was welcome to visit if I wasn't in the way, and because we were shooting at the Portland Art Museum, and I was planning to go see their collection on my day off. I slept much later than I've been able to since...
What continues to boggle me, personally, is how many of Clinton's dittohead supporters -- many of them strident feminists -- seem to have no problem holding up as their pride and joy example of feminism a woman who projects the blame for her loss of the nomination onto anything and everything except her own misguided judgement and behavior.
Is that really the shining example of feminism they'd like to hold up for the next generation? A complete lack of responsibility?
Clinton's RFK Assassination Comment Shows Character Flaw
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are two of the bravest people I know of. As presidential candidates, they put their safety on the line each and every day. But neither of them are what you would call typical politicians. Senator Obama would be the first African-American president and Senator Cli...
These same people also did one for Lost just before this season began which was even more snarky.
What the Frak is Going On?
This might surprise my loyal readers - hold steady dear friends - but I'm a little bit of a sci-fi geek. Yes, I still want to stand up and, I don't know, salute or something every time Capt. Picard comes on the television. But in seminary I discovered "the best show on television." And it was...
The "latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust fund babies" line, of course, is almost straight out of the Republican playbook.
How Low Will Hillary Clinton Go?
Barack Obama has just won the last 10 primaries and caucuses. As such, he now takes on front runner status for the democratic nomination. One time front-runner Hillary Clinton isn’t happy. She waged a desperate race-baiting campaign that flopped in South Carolina but her negative campaign of pe...
The Google map they link to says right downtown, pretty much right across the street from City Hall.
Earthquake In Portland...
Was that an earthquake? Had to be. Update: Yep. The USGS says it was 2.8. Sure felt bigger.
"It distresses me when I look at my fellow liberals write of social justice and the only idea they have is for government to somehow fix everything."
It distresses me that people still think it's okay in a political discussion to lie about things. There is barely a liberal in the world who argues "for government to somehow fix everything".
Guess Who Is Voting This November...
You’d be amazed at the kinds of e-mails that come my way each day. Take a look at these… Mark doesn’t like Jews: Being in the Republican Party for four generations I have a real problem with the Republican Party of today and it doesn't have anything to do with Foley. The Republican Party has a...
You didn't happen to get recordings of anyone else did you? I'm trying to get the text of X J Elliott's speech, which for me is the one everyone who wasn't there most needs to see.
Remarks From The Memorial Of James Chasse, Jr.
This evening over 500 people gathered at Portland's First Congregational United Church of Christ to mourn the death of James Chasse, Jr. My written remarks and a podcast of those remarks are below. There were numerous media outlets and local bloggers in attendance. Tomorrow, I'll link to some...
Well, you could always tell the audience at your event that they should go home after, go to equalitynow.org, and contribute to them in honor of the screening taking place elsewhere that night. Heh.
w00t! Montreal, here I come! (uh, maybe not. see update)
I didn't notice until just now that Montreal has reached critical mass! I'm shocked that the demand grew so quickly, but right now there are 91 people who want to see me do my thing (or a puppet show, I'm not good with French) and that's enough for me to track down a bookstore and get things wor...

It's a small Web, after all. Once upon a time, I was on MindVox. Now here's Wil pimping my charity Serenity screenings plan.

Judicial dictactorship?
“Intelligent Design Theory” Declared Farce By Judge
An important victory for the Constitution was reached today by a federal judge who has ruled against teaching “Intelligent Design” as an alternative scientific theory to evolution in the public schools. The AP reports: HARRISBURG, Pa. - "Intelligent design" is "a religious alternative masquerad...
