Thank you, K! You write an excellent blog, too - next time please add your web site url and others can find you. Or let me know and I will go in and add it here. The answer to your question is in my very first post: http://www.therextras.com/therextras/2007/07/your-favorite-t.html My pleasure, JM! Back atcha! You 'get' it, Ecki. Our Younger Teen also recoils when we sing and dance. No doubt. Thank you for taking the time, emma. Do you have any posts on those two approaches - that we could read? I agree that the eye poking and movement that interrpts sleep are in the prevent-stim category. Of the many children I have observed, the need or desire to chew is not restricted to when the child is tired. In the post above - the idea of heavy work - implies making the child tired (in addition to the neurological effects) - to decrease stimming. If that does not answer you question - come back and let me know.

"Stress is stress." Agreeing with you on the psych research that states the obvious. This happens far too often in my opinion. But I am not in charge of the research world. ;) I am grateful for faculty like you who like their job. (I ran screaming from a university position.)
