I subscribed to Mediocre Films a few months ago, after finding Yeshmin and deciding he was just about the Best Person Ever. I had no idea you knew him! Isn't it great when awesome people work together to achieve... er... things? Comedic things? How did he get you to talk, anyway? "Come and do this interview, or I'll kill myself!"?

I don't think that's anything to be embarrassed about! It always takes someone else to tell you that though, as I know from experience. (They just shouldn't let eight-yr olds on tv, that was a decade of shame and regret I had to endure!) As soon as I invent time travel I'm gonna head back and steal your virginity. Is that creepy? It sounds quite creepy, now that I write it. Let's rephrase that. You were / are super cute.

How do you walk the line between making a character comedic, and exaggerated, while still making them believable?

I'm noticing loads of Whoisms in your writing lately, I love it! Excellent t-shirt design. My roots don't go so deep, I'm sad to say, but I bet there'll be hundreds of geeks who Get It. (Or am I allowed to use grok yet? What geek level does that require?)

I wish I could give 2003 Wil a big hug. For some reason, geeks in distress always bring out that response in me, and I feel like the least I can do is give them a cuddle and maybe some boobie-smooshing. Wil, there are loads of people out there who are in the same place you were. Can you think of anything we could do to find and help them? Or is their pain necessary too? I honestly don't know, but my kneejerk response is always going to be to try and make it all better.

Wil, I've been saving up these recap posts, knowing that I'd need them, and tonight I've had the worst insomnia. What could have been a crappy night has instead been 4 hours of videos and podcasts, at least half of which has had me laughing. So thanks :)

So I'm watching the Eternal Arr video. Wil, I don't know if you know this, but you have possibly the coolest job in the world. Not many people get to stand on stage in front of a load of excited geeks, making pirate jokes! And what's with the anti-Janeway sentiment? What's wrong with her? Granted, she's no Picard, but you know what she has that he doesn't? A vaginarrrrr!

I love it when a walk can stir up a bunch of writerly thoughts. I remember walking home at midnight once, and by the time I got home I just had to fire up my laptop[ and blog about it. About how I'd seen a cat staring at the river, and what do cats think anyway? About the clock striking twelve, and about my little sister, and what words are for. It's a good feeling.

So! Wil. The bell. I really need to know: does it mean "that was a joke", or "that was a reference", or "I'm proud of myself right now and you should laugh"? Or all or none of these things? I suppose it may have been explained at some point, but a lot of the old RFBs aren't available any more. Every time you ding that little bell I try to work out what in the heck it means! Put my mind at rest?

More power to you, Bryan! Wil's largely responsible (let's say 87% for the sake of precision) for me getting into roleplaying too, so I understand all too well the lure of nerdsquee. Geeky or otherwise, do what you love. And the friends who don't understand? They will eventually, just win them over with geek lite stuff ;)
