Well I didn't try this yet but to answer your question about the wooden ones. The hanger on the wooden one is the slotted hole in the top of the board so there is nothing in the middle to remove. I would love to make one that I could hang on my wall in my studio. Hmmmm..... I need to put my thinking cap on.
