My friend Simon texted me yesterday around 3 p.m. and said, "I feel like it's a bottle of wine kind of night." For me, EVERY night is "a bottle of wine kind of night," but I decided to humor him...

If you haven't been to Amelie Le Bar a Vin (Polk between Washington/ Clay) - I definitely recommend checking them out on the weekdays during Happy Hour: 5-7 pm. It's honestly the only time this place is NOT packed. Maybe because the staff consists of hot French guys.... The plateau apero is $25 bucks and includes: 3 cheeses of your choice, a selection of charcuterie (speck, coppa, salami YUM), olives, dipping sauces, and spreads. They also offer healthy pours of vino in large goblets. During Happy Hour on the weekends, you can get a customized flight of wines (3 glasses)...

Lamb chops are not only a tender, flavorful cut of meat, but also make an elegant dish worthy of any special occasion. When properly prepared, the meat should fall of its bone and melt in your mouth like butter. Best of all, it's a cinch to make. I took Tesa to a casual drop-in dance class for kids. It was very free-flowing with minimum "do this" instructions, and instead was just a lot of fun with some lessons integrated within. Today must have been a light day, since there were 4 kids to 3 teachers! There was a part where each kid got a turn to dance across the room the way they wanted, and all of us followed. The kids beamed as they saw us copying their steps. At times, T was shy, but for the most part she ran around having fun. I got the...

Howard & Titania, San Francisco, 2006 Whenever I go to New York for work, I stay with my friends Howard and Titania in Brooklyn. I met them when they lived in San Francisco, and they've always been kind enough to let me crash at their place whenever I'm in NYC. I feel a great debt to them for all the time I've spend there. So, each time before I leave I ask, "Is there anything you want me to bring from San Francisco?" Without hesitation, Howard always replies "a carne asada burrito." Usually we laugh at this. Its impossible right?...

There's nothing like walking to work while trying to dodge the piles of puke on the sidewalk leftover from the night before. Hmmm...guess it was a "happy" St. Patrick's Day after all.
