At IndieCade on Saturday, Jenova Chen and Robin Hunicke discussed their work on Journey, the follow-up (due in 2011) to thatgamecompany's superlative Flower. If you're a regular visitor here, you already know about my unbounded affection for that game. Needless to say, I was especially keen to hear Chen (Creative Director) and Hunicke (Producer) present a work-in-progress report on their newest creation. If you're not familiar with Journey, it's a game in which players meet and travel with strangers through a vast landscape. The game purposely omits voice and text chat, so players must communicate in other ways. Because Journey...

I asked this person directly: do you have an iPhone? Nope. Do you use a Mac or a PC? PC. There you go. You don't get it. Until you use an iPhone, a Mac, drive a BMW or Audi, you don't even realize how great the experience can be or...

OK, that title might sound like a lot of random words strung together, but wowza, this movie looks like about 10 tons of awesome. Robot is out today (Sept 24) and I'm hoping the torrent^H^H^H American release isn't far behind. The biggest draw to this movie is that nowhere in the title, or the spew of tag lines will you see the words "Sylvester Stallone." via www.toplessrobot.com

Can we not agree after the complete commodification of social game awards that if you're not committing to building a whole experience around rewards to make them feel intrinsic to your activity they're just so much syrupy fructose glazed across your service, intended to sweeten and make your site “sticky”...

Six Apart acquired by VideoEgg. End of an era since I've been with 6A pretty much since the beginning, working in that old dental office, hammering away on emails seated between the CEO and President. We used to all go to lunch together way back then. I got married and had a daughter while at 6A. I got to be totally open about who I am (i.e. a Burner), and got to work closely with Tokyo, my home. It's a new chapter, and this makes sense in many ways. But this is a biggie...no more "Six Apart" where we called...

OMFG EDIT. Joe from I Am A TV Junkie offers up this first hand experience with the pants-crapping joy that one experiences in the presence of a TV goddess. Um... again I can only say: wow. WOW. FroggysPhotos Flickr stream is dedicated to celebrity appearance events where our betters briefly step down from their pedestals on high and walk among us mortals. You know, comic conventions and the like. The result is pure comedy gold. I could spend the whole day looking at pictures of people more socially awkward than I am. In this photo, the nerd (left) and Morena...
