Ooh yes please! I abandoned my first attempt at trousers because the fitting was too much effort, so a sewalong will be perfect! I have a large derriere for my frame so it'd be good to cover those kinds of adjustments - someone advised me to measure my "back crotch curve", which seems a bit daunting...
Trouser Tantalizer
Trousers, pants, bottoms, cigarette pants, bell bottoms.....It is now very official. I have finally decided on a date to begin the trouser sew-a-long (I'm calling them trousers because it's a little more exciting to say trousers than pants, well, at least to me). Fresh out of the holiday bustle ...

Pencil Skirt Lesson #5 - Finishing Details & My Summer in Italy Skirt
Believe it or not, this skirt has given me fits. I'm finished with my pencil skirt and I'm sure you are probably on your way to being about done as well, but let me just say, this skirt has given me fits. It started with the zipper. It ripped right out in the middle because I ironed it, putt...

Skirt to vest
I found this skirt at a yardsale for 25 cents!! woohoo...that is almost free! The skirt is not for my bodyshape but I love the plaid and had hopes of turning it into a vest. I had to rip the seams as I needed every bit of fabric. And the plaid gods were with me as I forgot to pay attention to t...

Sofa Skirt
When my beloved Aunty told me that she planned to have her sofa re-upholstered the first thought I had was "can I have the old fabric?" Despite thinking that I was a little strange, my aunt graciously saved me some fabric. I had to wash it twice to get all of the dust out, and in the wash the w...
So pretty! You're right, that fabric is just gorgeous! I've only recently come to realise how great red and yellow can look together.

Ruffled Flowers
Hey everyone! Today I finished another white t-shirt refashion. I think I really like to spice up plain white t-shirts. I should go for some color, but in the mean time, this is what I created. Check out my blog for more deets! Justinehttp://justbettertogether.blogspot.com/2010/07/ruffled-...

Let's make a mix tape!
Can you think of any contemporary songs which mention sewing in the lyrics? Or crafting? I'm on a mission to compile a sewing mix tape. If you've got any ideas, please head over to my blog and post your submissions... Continue reading

Love it! The combination of classic style and slightly wild print is a real winner.

So pretty! Good to see what can be made out of a little bit of lovely fabric.
Another Smashing Smock from Vintage Linens
I did it. I made another Smashing Smock from the Seams to Me pattern book by Anna Maria Horner. This time I made it out of a cherished piece of vintage fabric given to me by one of my favorite people in the whole world. She has changed the way I parent and the way I look at life. She is an amazi...
Very nice work! I'm trying to work out what to do with a boy's shirt I want to make fit me, and this has given me some ideas...
A shirt for May
Although I have been sewing a long time, It's still a challenge for me to make clothes that I feel comfortable just throwing on in the morning. So I end up wearing the same quasi-uniform outfit almost every day: jeans and a t-shirt. This situation doesn't really align with the way I feel about c...
So cute! I love playsuits but only wear them with tights - good to see a slightly longer length looks nice, I could be convinced to wear one this Summer...

Thanks for your lovely comments! Rhonda, it doesn't wrinkle much on this shirt because it's quite structured. It might do on a skirt, on the other hand - not sure.
1950s green blouse
Not a refashion of an existing garment, but sewing from scratch - Simplicity 4255, from 1953, in green poly-cotton lawn. My first foray into vintage sewing so it took FOREVER. More pics and an outline of the labour involved on my blog :)
